He likely plays SB as nigerio suggested. If it's true, ATT: 58 might be too low.

Added SB and adjusted ATT/DEF ratio to reflect change. Increased AGG also.

Mostly playing CB this season so adjusted ATT / DEF a little. Also reduced Response.

Re: Laurent Ciman, Montreal Impact

So I got a pm from Vreznov asking me if I could share any impression of Ciman from MLS. I have only seen him 3 or 5 times in MLS (once at the EUROs)..I only watch TFC games consistently, not so much Montreal :/.

2015 was his first season with Montreal, he was named MLS Defender of the Year (I'm not sure why, apparently he was instrumental in a late season Montreal surge for a playoff spot)..I recall he got sent off vs TFC, he also was sent off in two other games (two yellows) out of 27 matches played:

http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2015/08/0 ... ond-yellow
http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2015/08/2 ... w-and-sent
http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2015/09/2 ... ond-yellow

I mainly remember that Giovinco ran him ragged in their first match, Ciman also got away with (not booked) some nasty challenges..but that in two later matches Ciman really had Giovinco's number, stole the ball off the Italian a few times in the box and dribbled away in a very nonchalant manner, keeping Giovinco quiet on those occasions. He seems to be a mobile player (good engine) and tracks players and closes spaces well. His sliding tackles are hit and miss, meaning they can be great/precise or just plain bad...I did not think he was the "best" MLS defender last season...lol MLS defending is truly on a low level if he's the best..The Gianncherini goal vs Belgium I thought nicely highlighted (loss of concentration and positional awareness) the gulf of Ciman's abilities compared to other defenders in that game ..

Sorry I can't make any concrete stat suggestions.

Never realized he was this light, 65kg! No wonder Giovinco held his own despite Cimanbeing drapped all over him. #UPDATEGIOVINCOTOBB78 :p

I'll try to keep him in mind next time I watch Montreal and be more attentive to evaluate his stats better (no promises).

lol, that's "no promise" text. i realized that Giaccherini's goal created in Ciman's side. i'm very curious why did he selected as MLS best Defender 2015 :?
someone should burn Ballon d'Or trophy

I seen him a bit, and can't say that any stats really "need" to be changed - he is just an average CB for MLS...Known as 'part of the no-nonsense Montreal backline who hoof it clear at the earliest opportunity'... its also kinda difficult to make suggestions as there are not too many MLS defenders in the database to compare to ...maybe RES and MEN can go up each +1 to 79 - to highlight a bit more his 'responsive' engagement of threats away from his position and in the past his last ditch defending has stood out at times.

MLS Cup semifinal:
He played well for 45 mins in the first half of the first leg of the semifinal, TFC could not generate anything offensively and Ciman even made some good tackles in the second half, but then Montreal imploded and Toronto scored 7 goals over both legs - Montreal defended badly, Ciman was just lost at sea most of the time, arguably he should have been sent off after picking up an early yellow in the second leg, then only 15 mins later he scythed Giovinco down on the edge of the box completely missing the ball (inconsistent ref let him jog away  ) - after this either cuz Ciman is just so mediocre or worried of getting a second yellow, he did barely anything the rest of the match (including extra time) aside from a block of a goal bound shot and a missed header vs TFC.

Montreal as a whole were terrible at defending set-pieces, many TFC players just free. Offside trap was executed consistently well.

He has been traded to Los Angeles FC, a new expansion side for the 2018 season. It seems he had a verbal agreement to stay in Montreal whilst in MLS, as he had moved from Belgium to better treat his daughter's autism with specialists in Montreal..This is part of the deal where Raheem Edwards was drafted by LA FC and then traded to Montreal - scummy frenchies give no shits about autistic belgian kids, only want to raid black talent.

Anyways I got to see more of him and I more convinced that Defence needs to come down to 74, his non slide tackling is just sloppy and he fouls so often when challenging, he really needs a lower value, he also tends to loosely mark a player and leave his defense follow high into midfield and be found no where when the ball is played quickly up - a bit like S. Ramos AWOL on some plays. I would add *Sliding, its his main successful style, everything else is messy.

I still think MEN and RESP can go up to 79, a bit of a raging loon to his own teammates when Montreal concede sloopy goals, but he plays really well under pressure personally, and can 'drive' his team with on the ball plays, tackles, dribbling surges or shoots from distance. The RES I think better compliments his defending style, he tries to engage with a lot of plays early, but his contacts are so 50/50 to be a foul or a good tackle.

LPA might go up to 73-74, this I have not seen enough to be sure, but he showed it sometimes, decent distribution from the back, if a bit slow and just cut out from the target in the final moment.

There is a dimension to his game I was not aware of, this guy has a penchant for striking really nice shoots. From distance, powerful curlers, volleys, he also takes a free kick here and there. He has a wicked, technical shot on him. I would raise ST to 74-75, Curling to 72-74, lower FKA to 73-72 (though on target sometimes, its not corner aiming like a Lewa), and possibly add *Middle Shooting.

Header can be lowered to 75-76, his aerial ability is not good at all for a CB, and just the way I'm ranking TFC defenders/players in header and jump, I think Ciman at HEA 75-76 and JUMP 79 is more accurate.

Side note Toronto and Montreal played 5 times this season, and each game was a good intense encounter, the incredible 95th winner for the Canadian Chanpionship after a clear pen was denied minutes before to the 5-3 loss in Toronto later in the season. Gonna miss this bald fuck when TFC play Montreal next season, always tried hard and was a character.

https://youtu.be/VMAH4xrs5wA?t=3m9s - Of course Ciman steps up in the dying minutes of the stadium opening match to get a winner, Frei usually sure handed makes a blunder on it.

Had a great clearance on his ass in the first half. Been watching him a bit more/regularly past few weeks, I think I need to tweak first post a bit. Better long passer, consistent 40+ meter crossfield balls to wide man, worse jump/aerially he is kinda weak, Condition to 4 - reflect more his irregular nature - never quite sure how crap he will be each match, and MEN/Tenacity up to 83ish on account of his late match actions - if he is crap/blue arrow he tends to be crap the whole match but on normal day/green arrow he is a clear leader and drives on field actions - will try to get involved offensively if his side need a goal and can be a great last ditch defender.

Shame he left MLS, since I've been watching LAFC regularly I have come to really appreciate the player he is and in retro spect what he meant for Montreal, not only a giant character/presence on the field, but a very technical defender who has a strong inclination to get involved in the offense. His passing can be amongst the best in the league, the long ball distribution mainly is very Bonucci like.

Anyways here is the update I was going to apply, did not realize that the transfer went through;

Def 75
Balance 82
Top Speed 78
Response 83
SPS 84
LPA 83
LPS 86
ST 75
FKA 75 (its the long run up style 8 I think in old gen PES, in new gen give him the knuckle ball card/ability)
Curling 78
Jump 78
Technique 71
Aggression 74
Mentality 83
Team Work 67 - Higher Responseand lower TW to mimic him closer to S. Ramos style, vacates backline often always wanting to win the ball first time and make an instant counter, makes big problems for his side.

Form 4
WFA 5
WFF 7

ADD
*1-touch pass
* D-line control

PES 16
09 Knuckle Shot
13 one touch pass
18 Low Lofted Pass

Height 184 Weight 70 - this is listed on FIFA game sites and other places online, MLS has him listed at 6 feet tall and 155 lbs https://www.mlssoccer.com/players/laurent-ciman , feet are imprecise as it only comes up to 183 cm, anyways the FIFA height in centimeters should be believed.

Holy Fuck TFC signed him! Put a big smile on my face, haha, his defending aint the best, but if he played anywhere close to like he did for LAFC offensively he can be a crazy DMF/libero. What a character to join the team.

he aint playing close to what he did last season, Ocrin said he barely played in France, think his level has completely gone to the toilet. Will give him a month or so to find his legs, but he beggin for a nerfing right now

Updated - maybe is worse in Agility and TS/ACC not sure still.

saved a classic set but with a lower Def value of 70 for his 2015 Defender of the year season, and till first half of 2018 he could be really great, just always was erratic, now is a burning pile of trash.
