uhm, he played SB today and he didn't look so slow on his runs... i'd say TS 78-79... and he's stiff but not so much imo... AGI 72-73

I'm pretty sure he can have a higher Stamina value too, he can easily last 90 minutes and often played as a full-back at Aston Villa. I'd have said that an 84 would be more appropriate.

Also, surely his current given Attack value is very harsh? I'd have ranked him somewhere in the 60-64 range.

yes i'd agree with that, he has played a few games for juve on SB, and does do runs on the side quite well.. so stamina increase is in order..

I agree too with the stamina increase and a value 60->64 for attack.. but i totally disagree with *D-line control.. not here at Juventus IMHO

I'd like to hear Defrenz opinion on ATTK & STA...
and Gooner's thoughts on TS & AGI.

Also, wouldn't mind hearing from Oreillo or Nico :D

But if no word from them next week...I'll update 8-)

I do agree that STA needs a slight rise, but i'd go for 82-83.
For ATK i don't know how to rate it good... he's mainly a CB, and as a SB he does runs on the side but not often, like 2 in a game... and since ATK seems to work as AGG too, i'd say low ends for an SB if treated as such, or mid values as a CB... since he doesn't go much forward from central positions (but does on corners)

don't know about his years at Aston Villa though :(

I must say the last few matches I've seen him play for Juve, his ability to read play(Defense) was poor. I'm sure he just isn't in form, but this is something to keep an eye on. He is currently in the 2nd tier of Serie A defenders with these stats, and I'm not sold right now ;)

I propose adding *Sliding.

Another fantastic in the box surgical removal of ball against Portugal off C. Ronaldo, has done this a few times this season inside the box, so much so he has had me thinking it was Thuram for a moment back in juve colours . Cannot remember every instance specifically but there was one definately in Madrid off of Drenthe or some other winger -- the back line looked to have been breached and done for but RB Mellberg hustled for dear life to make a last ditch tackle in the box that conceded a corner but nothing more.

I really am confident it is not just me seeing things and indeed this is an overlooked ability of his.

The update value for TS is fine but I reckon that you could go further with his Agility. Mellberg is definitely nimble and can turn with real ease for a defender (unlike Senderos) and it has proven to be vital when chasing a pacy winger down the line to "lock the gap". He's shown this to a great level against the likes of Ronaldo and Lennon and I'd say that you could raise it to an upper 70 value ;)

As for his Attack, that could do with an increase to a 62-64 value and his Aggression could decrease to a 60 value. When defence turns to attack, he stays back to cover and only ever goes up for set-pieces (and this can be arranged in the Formation & Tactics menu).

And Oriello is definitely right about the Sliding star, and I'd now question the inclusion of the Covering star.

I'd also say that his Mentality needs discussing, one of the many things he proved in his tenure in the EPL (where he is deeply missed) is that he possesses a high level of determination and a solid work rate. I can't understand why he isn't at a similar value to someone like Ryan Nelsen (84).
