Andy COLE | 1997-1999

Postby PES Stats Database » 2008 Dec 14, 01:49

Name: Andrew ("Andy") Alexander Cole

Nickname: "Goal King Cole"

Club: Manchester United

Spoiler: show
Andrew Cole is one of the highest scoring players in British football history. Currently ranked second in the all time scoring charts of the FA Premier League, in his career Cole has scored a total of 188 Premier League goals, 2nd behind Alan Shearer who has 260 goals. Cole started his career as a youth player for Arsenal. He made his only league appearance for Arsenal, and following season he was loaned to Fulham in the Third Division, where he scored 3 goals in 13 games, before being sold to Second Division Bristol City in a £500,000 deal - at the time he was the Ashton Gate club's most expensively signed player.

In February 1993, Division One leaders Newcastle United paid Bristol City a then club record £1.75million for his services. The red-hot Cole scored 34 goals in 40 games during Newcastle's first Premiership season as they finished third and qualified for the UEFA Cup. Cole scored a total of 41 goals in all competitions - breaking the club's goalscoring record which had been set by Hughie Gallacher nearly 70 years earlier. The PFA voted 22-year-old Andy as Young Player of the Year for that season. On 10 January 1995, Andy was suddenly sold to Manchester United for a deal worth £7million. With United, Andy won five Premiership titles, two FA Cups and the Champions League. He was also capped fifteen times for England between 1995 and 2001, scoring once.

I think agility, Dribble speed and shot accuracy can all be raised a couple
Header and Jump could come down by 1 or 2 also
Not sure if there is any need for outside star either

His DA is just bad. I dunno its hard to get an opinion on him, hes pretty mediocore to me in united, good st though. Set doesnt look so bad, but much lower da and ds is needed, lower passing too, and tw

He had a decent first touch but he was a bit too punt and run to have yellows for DA.. Didn't constantly take players on to deserve such high ds either, he mainly specialised in the superb timing of his runs off the last defender and his excellent shot tech (raised by 1 point). The 88 top speed 86 balance was abit overkill for him as well imo.

Nice update Brezza, much better than before. The passing stats still seem a tad too high for my liking, as does the Teamwork value. Otherwise I think the set's pretty much spot on.

I'd go with less da still, and probably take attack out of the 90's or have it at 89/90 MAX, just didn't strike me as being that intelligent really.
