Fernando Hierro in his last Madrid years, surrounded by those who´d later be known as "The Galacticos". Alltough still a rather offensive CB, he was no longer as attack minded as in his younger days (He only score 5 goals in these 2 and a half seasons).

His attacking abilities suffered, but his sharpness in defense grew and became more of a traditional CB than a CWP, and never again played in the midfield, that´s why I removed playmaking, penalties and scoring abilities and added some defensive values.

At 33 he was still one of the best defenders in the world, but it has to be said, he was no longer that "Machine" he used to be in his days along with Sanchís or Alkorta.

Enjoy!

his LPA is overrated. mid 80's should do him.

however, i reckons DA could go up to 80.

BB 91? No, not even in his prime, if u use La Liga ladders stats-ranking-ladder-f307/la-liga-ladder-t5373.html u'll have to agree that he never deserved BB 91.

Updated my two sets! (89-90) and (01-03)

Added Cards/Colours/Extra links and some videos (on 01-03), as well as few tweaks in stats to make it more coherent.

Enjoy!

I agree with you, he used to be a goalscoring machine back in those days, but I didn´t make that post, so I can´t update it, it´s up to Uzair, Brezza or Plava, m8.

Perfect set! Although he may perhaps have been even slower at 34.

I wouldn't say "perfect", really. SPS is critically underrated in both sets, the strength this guy could give to his ground passes was absolutely impressive, sometimes the ball left his right foot and reached a striker in the other half of the pitch in the blink of an eye. On the other hand his Response seems to be a bit overdone if you ask me, he wasn't this responsive (Sanchís was way better than him in that area) but Def could go up a bit, for both sets maybe. And yes, he was a bit slower in his late years, but 72 is fine for his TS, problem was his acceleration which shouldn't be even at 70s.

The early set (89 - 90) seems pure guesswork. I mean, he was less everything (even in terms of physique) in his early 20s than in his early 30s?

I'm currently watching Real Madrid games from the 1996 - 99 period and will probably attempt a double Hierro - Sanchís set. One of the best, if not actually the best one, defensive partnerships in the history of spanish football.

Defintly does need some changes. From your set... lets see.

Well defense... if brezza is now rating beckenbauer on an 88, we can't raise hierros def at all. Response... agree.. old rating for game reading. SPS can defintly go up too... I dunno about 92 and has been awhile since I seen him, but I do recall him having very fast grounded passes. I'll give him an 88 for the time being. lpa/lps agree. agree with cards too. Also needs higher attack, espically considering piques current value, at least 85. DA can be higher too, sa and st probably really under-rated.. but its been to long to give an accurate rating so I'll just leave it.

Gonna update now while I'm here.
