SA and ST should both come down 3 points each.
attack probably should come down to 65

He had an accurate long pass that was a great tool to change the speed of the game and take advantage of spaces (watch the first goal for Brazil against Cameroon in 1994 World Cup)

So .. he deserves *Passing and *Playmaking and I think Long Pass Acc and Long Pass Speed should be over 90

Wouldn't that overdo him? I mean, with Pass accuracy over 90 and both Playmaking and Passing, he would be as good as Juninho...

I think his passing stats are fine, he was an excelent distributor of the ball but his passes were often sideways and not directed to the attack, he doesn't need great acuracy.

And imo he deserves the *playmaking star but not *passing.

BB 88? He was strong but nothing like that, not stronger than Senna or Cambiasso. His response and TW don't need to be so high too, but maybe his DA and technique could be level with Xabi Alonso.

Yes, I agree with you.

My suggestions:

BB 86 (He still remains strong with this value. More realistic, I would say)
Stamina seems ok. He was like a lion on the pitch.
Response is stated very, very high. I often saw him coming late in tackles and committing fouls, being sometimes even disloyal. He was not that "classical". I suggest 85.
TW 95? Lessen that value, please :) . Obdulio Varela has 90 and he was what we all know. I suggest a value about two points below him, like 88.

i guess he deserves Pinpoint Pass he was known by his long passes and maybe a +1/2 points in SPA and LPA and +2/3 in both passes speed

Considering all things in this thread, how about this.

BB@ 83/84
resp: 85/86/87.
TW: 88

remove anchor man and enforcer. Any problems with this or suggestions?

Seems good, although i'd keep the Enforcer card and TW in the oranges.

so underrated set, his passing skills were way better, and he deservers playmaking/talisman and firsT touch, plz watch this video!!

i suggest to extend his era to -98, in WC he was still great with his passes, i can remenber him being maybe one of the best of that brazilian nt, last week i watched brazil x netherlands and brazil and france he was the best brazilian passer, i saw him doing a firt time pass with his left leg in the cb position being pressed by and dutch guy to rivaldo that was in cmf position(maybe a moment that brazil was under attack from netherlands and another awesome playmaking and first time passes, another things that i remenber assistin in a fk, the own goal from scotland was a pass that he did to cafú, an pass that in 94 was already common in the brazilian jogadas ( movimentation, passes that are set up before and stuff)

I have to agree that his passes appear to be more accurate than the already great numbers we give to him. Probably one point more in SPA and two more in LPA. I tested the 87 number and worked fine, but probably this would just be pushing the bar way too high.

He should probably have a classic set for 1997-1998 - he did have a particularly good World Cup in 1998 and was a runner-up with the national side.

One could say I'm biased, but I say it's for a reason.

Even in 94 this LPA (and SPA) are too low. I think Response also could go up, but more important is that he needs *Anchor Man.

In fact, no one needs it more. In 1998 he needs it twice, along LPA in clear orange.

Other than Vieira or Rijkaard (Matthaus if you count him there) no DM was as good. Davids, Keane, Redondo, Guardiola, Albertini, Deschamps (nooooooo), other Brazilians.

Return to “90's”
