Name: David Andrew Platt

Club: Aston Villa

INFO:

David Platt was born on June 10th, 1966 in Chadderton, near Oldham, in Lancashire. Joining Crewe Alexandra, he carved out a reputation as a strong running, free-scoring midfielder and eventually joined Aston Villa. In 1991 he moved to Italy, where he successfully turned out for Bari, Juventus and Sampdoria, costing many millions of pounds in transfer fees. Arsenal then recruited him in 1995 and he finally won domestic honours in the game three years later as part of the squad that won both the Premier League and the FA Cup. The match David Platt is most remembered for was his 83rd minute header against Manchester United in November 1997, helping Arsenal to a 3-2 victory over their closest rivals and keeping Arsenal in the title race.

David was selected for the 1990 World Cup due to his versatility and reliability. He was sent on as an extra time substitute in the second round game against Belgium and responded by scoring a memorable volley in the very last minute of the extra period - his first goal for his country. He later scored the opening goal in a 3-2 victory over Cameroon. David became England's most consistent performer of the early 1990s, scoring goals with frequency from midfield and proving an inspirational leader. He eventually won 62 caps (13 as captain) scoring an impressive 27 goals.

I think I underrated his jump it was a true strength of his could possibly go up to 89?

Done,

I also wonder about teamwork as well, maybe it would be wrong to decrease it seeing as he was great at getting on the end of team moves but should it be on par with better playmakers than Carrick? Seeing as Platt was mostly about scoring goals. Maybe 85 would be a better value?

Yeah he wasn't really a playmaker but he did gel with team mates very well perhaps a 1 or 2 point decrease?

His era should probably be 92-94 when he was regularly England captain and their most prolific goal scorer.

His whole game was making runs from midfield and getting into the box and onto the end of crosses with that in mind I think both his Attack, Response and Aggresion should be raised to the high 80s low nineties.
He also had a fantastic leap for his size and was great at scoring with his head even from tight angels I think both his Jump and Heading should be in the nineties.
Agility, Shot technique and Shot accuracy could all do with a bump of a point or two he did score with some very good volleys and overhead kicks.
Shot power should come down he rarely scored from out side the box and didn't blast them in from distance.
His Top speed also looks a touch high and his Dribble speed should be even lower he didn't beat anybody with the ball at his feet.
Lastly Long Pass I'm not sure what to do about that because it controls both crossing which looks about right for him and long passing which he wasn't so hot at?
