Petr Čech | 2004-2006 & 2010-2012

Postby PES Stats Database » 2009 Jul 08, 07:23

- 2004-2006:

Club: Chelsea FC

INFO:

Spoiler: show
Once thought the best keeper in the World, Čech was unbeatable, key to Chelsea's first league title for decades going 1025 minutes without conceding (a record only beaten by Van der Sar last season) and keeping a record 25 clean sheets.

He continued his performances conceding only 15 goals the following season (a record that still stands as the best) claiming Chelsea the title again. However he did not repeat his heroics in the 2006/2007 season after colliding with Readings Stephan hunt in October cracking his skull open leaving him out for months, he hasn't been the same since.

Not bad, but lower his TW, his communication with the back-line wasn't this good, it was Terry who was the one telling everyone what to do. It should probably be about 79. I'd lower agility by 1 as well, he wasn't as agile as Robert Green. Jump doesn't need to be that high(could probably be lowered by 2) and wasn't as hard-working as Brad Friedel, mentality could go down 1.

Overrated.

Response 97, better than Schmeichel?

Keeper Skills 95, better than Kahn?

he wasn't fixed

He was still top class though, his move to chelsea really brough the best out in him, at rennes he wasn't (I beleive) the best keeper in the league.

Been watching some old match tapes and some match of the days back from his 2005 season. Honestly, other than these tapes I've caught very few matches of Cech over the years. This suggestion is based purely of the years from these tapes. Regardless, watching these old tapes, teh first thing that strikes me odd about these stats is that he punches/palms freaking everything. I don't think i've ever seen a keeper punch away that many shots, so why does he have such insanely high keepr skills? He seems solid enough when he does come out to catch from corners.. also having a red balance, but hes got to be punching close to 80% of his shots, does he need KS that high? Seems very excessive.

seems he's always been shit at dealing with crosses, for a man of his size and (purported) strength, he's even worse then de gea possibly, which is quite unbelievable when you consider their comparative physiques.

deleted the useless 2002-2004 set. completely random values that have no reality to them, they basically suggest that cech went +10 in all three key stats just 3 monthes after leaving france.

Those examples certainly look a bit underwhelming for a keeper with orange BB in his prime set and near-orange in his late set.

Konami has always rated him highly in that regard, so either we're talking about very concrete flops, or everybody (including us) has just messed up massively regarding his BB.
