PES 2011 / 2010 Attack/Defence Awareness Card: Attack Minded

If ever the phrase 'sublime to the ridiculous' could be applied to a player it is Paolo Wanchope, throughout his career he netted decent amount of goals in different clubs. He has couple flaws in his skills which i think influenced negatively on his chances becoming a major threat in European football. He was selfish with ball, and he was pretty inconsistent through a good amount of games. At times though he excels in finishing, especially in 1-1 situations and has always been technical player full with twists and turns. He knew where the goal is and could make intelligent runs.

He gained decent speed for a big man but his acceleration and speed on the ball could be quite average as he preferred to use trickery rather than running with the ball. *Dribbling and *Tactical Dribble are there because like I mentioned, he is selfish and almost every time prefers to go on his own and try his tricks. It usually doesn't matter where he has the ball, he always looks to beat people with trickery rather than playing the easy ball and building the attack in the "normal" way.

He deserves quite high attack, apart from his strength and decent turning/technical ability, one of his strongest points which has made him score so many over the years for club and country has been his ability to get into good positions, make the 'right runs' past defenders with very good off the ball movements.

The Header and Jump values are very wrong, Wanchope's name is renowned with the backwards header! Wanchope could provide great accuracy and power with the parietal section of his cranium, and with it he was able to supply headed passes and a danger in set-piece situations. Combine that with a decent leap, and great strength and you've got yourself a lethal player aerially. I'd probably have his Header at an 85 value and his Jump at an 83.

Oh and the Team Work value is absolutely ridiculous.

Updated to fit new format + added cards

Raised Agility: 88 Speed: 84 acceleration: 78 Header: 85 Jump: 83 Teamwork: 72 Technique: 89

Was overly harsh with speed stats, probably based them more of the older Wanchope. He could be deceptivly fast once he got into full gear an example would be his solo run goal against Man Utd.
