This set hasnt been touched for a while and with reason seeing he wasnt playing much. Im not sure what happened in Gremio but he is definitely better than some of their players, a better player even than Luan imo, who was selected as the Libertadores best. Gremio wasted a beast of a player, and now he is back at Bsc, and even if a little older, I would bet that Bsc wins the domestic title with him this year.
Impressions from his first minutes back in Ecuador: he looks even heavier, he was always chubby for his size but now he looks more fat than years before, however I dont think it hurts his game. He has played in a slower tempo just retaining the ball which he is so damn good at, seriously elite european level. So strong, refined and uses the leg farther away from his marker to play the level, which makes it almost impossible for defenders to snatch the ball away from him when he wants to shield it.
Almada is demanding him to give more passes and release the ball quickier which makes for many nice combinations and possesion football with Arroyo. He is also requested to defend, which he seems to have discovered a new passion for since he can bulldog even more with his current frame, and he was always a violent player
It does not seem as it would be taking much more stamina than he used before for his defence contributions though, seeing as he doesnt launch himself to counters, instead he just floats around that area helping possesion and being available for defending when it is lost
He is doing great, but that size and getting older is seemingly hurting his speed stats, expectedly. The set remains good, however as I get more accurate insights I will be suggesting some changes that revolve around his aging process
