Irish U21 midfielder Alan Judge is one of the better recent products of Blackburn's academy. He is primarily a central midfielder but is often moved out wide owing to his height (or lack thereof). He reminds me very much of David Thompson in that he is short in stature but makes up for it with his sheer enthusiasm and work ethic. He is a tidy passer but not spectacular and is always available and wanting the ball. He is generally more forward thinking than defensive (though his mentality means he will chase back anyway) and posesses a powerful shot. He became a big favourite with Plymouth fans during his loan there for the second half of last season, scoring 2 goals in 17 appearances and spending another season there should be beneficial to his development. Whether he will make a regular Premiership player I am not sure but certainly has enough about him to hold down a place in a Championship team even at a relatively young age.
N.B. The height and weight values above are not neccessarily accurate. I cannot remember where I got them from but the numbers on most sources of 184/80ish are miles away from being correct. He may even be shorter than 178 but without any proof I can't say for certain.
