i think his defence can go higher.. he is a real clean defender and i do think he is as clean as mertesacker and ferdinand who sit on 90

I agree. IMO he's the best German CB today...

Great tackler, but suspect positioning at times.

Tonight was such an instance.

Bullshit. Superb positioning. Dortmund plays simply more aggressive pressing than other crappy, passive teams.

^ which results in him being badly positioned...

I have many questions when reviewing def global scale, he should be above some and on par with several,
I think the show by him and Subotic has been of great quality,
is a doubt
any opinion?

I think their partnership is the best in Europe. Not because of their stats (clean sheets etc...), but because of the strong teamwork between them!! Just like Xavi and Iniesta! :)

I've seen a bit match against R. Madrid and im not impressed from his defensive positioning at 1v1. He turns his back to other players not good for a DC imo.

imo a player with high 80's at DEF shouldn't do that bad body posititioning at 1v1 even its 1 or 2 occasions. i watched that match from streaming simulcast and i missed a lot things i guess.

He had few interceptions or good tackles, but most of them were against Alvaro Morata, not one of the best dribblers in the world for sure.

He was incredible against Real, especially in the first half. Would like to know where you did see "bad positioning".

Why do you still believe that DEF=Defensive positioning?
That's an old fashioned misconception. FYI, DEF is nothing more than the effectiveness of the player in defensive duties (i.e. tackling, outmuscling opposition and so).

Alright, but I guess... If we're talking about Hummels being caught out of place often, that's more a TW issue, or am I wrong?

Quality header and does well to hold off Varane.

From a positional perspective I thought he was great for Germany today and arguably their best player, he covers brilliantly for other team mates in the defense. He's certainly a huge improvement on the Mertesacker-Boateng partnership and he brings a security to the German defense that doesn't seem to be there when I've seen Mertesacker and Boateng play there together.
