Signed for _rou CFR Cluj.

Despite having contract with _cyp Apollon Limassol for another Season, Paulo Vinicius after his great Season in Cyprus asked for a transfer to _rou CFR Cluj.
Last Season, he was considered as one of the most important Center-Backs in Cyprus. He was pivotal and an undisputed starter in Apollon's good Season that ended with a 3rd place finish in the Cypriot League, and a Cypriot Cup victory for a second consecutive Season.
Ironically, Vinicius contributed massively to his team's attacking department, by scoring 9(!) goals last Season, including many last-minute winners or equalizers(like Vs AEK Larnaca and AEL Limassol in the Play-Offs), and the winner in the Cypriot Cup Final Vs APOEL Nicosia. The majority of his goals came from aerial-play; Set-Pieces, and crosses. He really is a monster in the air, both attackingly and defensively.
Defensively, he is generally solid and reliable; tall with strong body-build, aggressive and solid in the air, but in terms of pure marking and tackling he is not anything amazing. This is an area of his Set that might need re-consideration in the future. He seems to win many of his battles and challenges mainly because of his strength, body-build and aggression, rather than anything else.
Finally, technically with the ball at his feet, he is not anything great and he is not adventurous with his passing, but he had no problem in that aspect with the level in Cyprus.

Return to “FC CFR 1907 Cluj”
