Your welcome. I saw him a lot this season, w/o really realizing his stats weren't created yet. So the last couple games I paid closer attention, so I could put together a set 8-)

I thought he deserved some 1-2 pts more in RES and maybe DEF/GK? he's doing a really good season imo...

Response: The majority of the keepers in the Serie A are between 85-87. 84 right now is slightly belowe average. I thought of his as a keeper that is slightly above average in athleticism. An 87 is too high for him.

86: Stéfano SORRENTINO, Juan Pablo CARRIZO, Francesco TOLDO, Zeljko KALAC
85: Ferdinando COPPOLA, Gianluca CURCI, Francesco ANTONIOLI, Francesco BENUSSI, Alex CALDERONI
84: Nicolás Gaston NAVARRO, Andrea CAMPAGNOLO

I thought the 86 group was better than him. I compared his response most to Calderoni and Campagnolo. Maybe an 85 would be better :?

Def & GKS - in both of these he is rated slightly below average. What do you suggest?

i've seen like 1 game and don't remember well... but he's often been good i remember, so it seemed strange to find all stats in low average.. only that :D

Updated after the Inter game. I watched him very closely, and his positioning was excellent the whole night :ugeek:

now it looks better... i mean, i don't know HOW he's good, but he is :P he's almost a candidate for an NT place after this brilliant half season! (you should always consider he has not the defence of inter or juventus to save him :P)

I don't think he was that good to warrant 86 for defence. I have 84 in OF. also this is his first real season in serie a against top opposition. Can't say i've really been impressed but he's certainly done a good job.

I started with his stats looking below average in the Serie A, and caught a lot of flak for it. He has been good this season, and appearently has been catching the eyes of the right people. Vs. Inter his positioning was superb. Look at the ladder, who at the 85 level is better than him as far as strictly positioning?

A quote from the commentator in referring to Marchetti, "World Class Keeper". I truthfully can't find where else I would feel comfortable bumping him up. I know he is a large reason Cagliari is have a great comeback. Any suggestions...with good reasoning?

good post by Gooner. very detailed, but at this point I can only agree with mentality suggestion. definately impressed with that aspect of his game given his age. in terms of response, I'd rate Amelia higher at this point. I rate Amelia in most departments actually, but Marchetti is certainly up and coming. I hope he moves to a team like Fiorentina or Napoli, and not Milan, not because i am Inter fan but like Gooner said, he's likely to be benched until deemed ready for the top flight.

Where is Frey going??

I think Gooner's stats should be moved to the 1st post, as he is the best keeper stats maker around. It is possible that we need to move Amelia up....as his current stats don't look really worthy enough to make the Italian NT :P

word around the grapevine is that if fiorentina don't make it in the top 4, he might leave abroad. my money's on Bayern. it would be a great move for him IMO.

Amelia is fine. He's not exactly close to replacing Buffon in the NT anyway. I haven't seen enough of Marchetti this season to agree or disagree with Gooner (I'm glad he took the time to look at lowly Cagliari :D ) But from what I've seen, Marchetti is "imposing" and does his utmost to protect the goal mouth. Response I don't think is bordering "world class" quite yet, its certainly above average but I don't think he's as good as Mandanda in that respect. Then again Mandanda is more athletic so his response ability is more noticeable. However this save was certainly impressive. And there's that save against a Flores header in the Udinese game. But these could all have easily been red star games. Perhaps 86/87 for response. Better we wait, and update at the end of season rather than update now and lower later.

I think gooner used good logic in rating his Def a little lower than I would have, and his Res a little higher than I would have. And seriously even though I have seen him a lot...I had a very hard time making these stats. From convos on Evo-web Serie A thread....he gets a lot more respect than you or I are giving him :P

If there was anything I would change in his post..It would probably be an 87 Res instead of 88. So we can always raise him up to 88 once we get a better feel for him...but I think the rest...especially Mentality & TW should be updated now 8-)

Even BB? I agree that he's brave as hell when it comes to 1v1's but is that body strength? I prefer your defence value tbh, that's one of the best things about him aside from his bravery/mentality. The decision is yours of course, but I prefer your stats

I agree that I made the stats correctly with what I saw from him, and my understanding of how to make keeper stats. The fact is that Gooner has a better understanding than I do, and I appreciate his explanations.

If I do move his stats to the 1st post....I will likely move my stats to where his stats currently are. As I did try to make a good set of stats, and don't really want them to be erased 8-)
