After 5 games he already has 2 goals and 3 assists - he might too much for the Championship if he keeps himself steady (can't get a move to an EPL side right now), probably the Championship is closer to Ligue 1 in overall ability of defences, so he will probably start hitting the same numbers as he did with Rennes.

He only had 2 goals and 3 assists in first half of the season, in 2019 he has scored 7 more times and gotten 9 more assists.

Was reading Hull fans saying he applied himself poorly last season, since he did not want to be in the Championship (might have thought he would be sold when they got relegated), but this season he is in a good head space.

I would give him Defence 30, does so little on wing to help defend with fullback, dribblers just stroll by.

Every play I could spot from the match highlights on youtube on Hull's channel, since Jan 2019;

https://youtu.be/XFPjeeggecM?t=699 excellent free kick goal versus Birmingham City
https://youtu.be/Czs9445WTVc?t=102 left the ball behind him and wasted a really good opportunity
https://youtu.be/Czs9445WTVc?t=192 still an absolute train when he gets up to full speed as he can sway in and out to turn a defender then burst past him the other way

Couple notes on the set, I do not see him having this ts. I see a player in the high 80s (88?) that probably has lower acc (77). His acceleration is very middling and can stop some chances he has dead in their tracks since he takes time to get that head of steam built up. He is good at flick on passes, but I do not see many short passes where he demonstrates good speed or accuracy. They're mostly simple lateral passes to a teammate in a good position. Further, he wastes a lot of passes and just does not demonstrate the ability to consistently hit them with the needed speed or placement. I would be in favor of a 74/75 spa and 75/76 sps. I have no real numbers for sa (maybe 73? Thoughts?) and st (does seem good but this is still really high) other than that they are quite damn high. I see lpa in high greens/borderline yellow and sps to be 2 points lower, something like 79/77. Agreed with Oriello on the 30 defense, and I also do not see anything response worthy above 77 at most as the "response goals" some pundits call it are mostly just high aggression that put him in a good position if/when a ball is fumbled and finds its way to him and not any quick reactions in the moment. His curling is definitely great and 85 is a fair number. Finally, mentality can likely take a hit to the 60s, and likely lower 60s.

He is a very speedy player when he reaches full speed and is capable, when on form, of tearing a defense to shreds with electric acceleration and a good ability to either pick a smart, but not complex, pass or having a go on goal himself. He is quite lazy and can get mentally turned off and then just be a waste of space on the pitch for large stretches of time. Talent wise, he is clearly better than the Championship. Very good player at what he does, but far less complete and well rounded than this makes him to be.

not clear here what you meant by sps, since you gave different values earlier and LPS is 79 already, did you mean change LPS from 79 to 77?

I agree with what you've suggested for the most part. Attack I would take down to 70, Response to 65 - as you said its not a big part in his offensive getting getting on loose balls in the box and is unreactive in defensive phase often, only really him being magnetized to loose/slow passes in mid where he starts turn overs is a skill of his.

Acceleration I would take down to 75 with TS 87.

LPA is maybe the only area I think he is still as good and maybe even pulled of some crosses beyond his normal repitoire, great chip crosses right on the line whilst he was falling down, technically really difficult to execute - and his dead ball delivery I find really consistent and good.

Shooting SA 73, SP 81, ST 76 ? Think Bowen should have the better SA and ST, its been a while since Grosicki scored some crazy/inventive goal, and I'll reserve the ST 82 (87 was me going overboard because of a few stunners at Rennes) for his 2015-16 classic set.

I think Bowen was left underrated in his SA, he in two seasons had 20 missed /33 on target, 30 missed / 49 on target - a third of his shots are from outside the box and most of the rest on the outer edge of the penalty area, not many in the 6 yard box. He is a better shooter than the 76 SA /78 ST reflects.

Headin/Jump 68/65

DA I would drop to 80 with DS 77 and Agility 77

Tech up a point to 84 - Some touches since his days in France, for Poland I think too have been just a little tighter, its just that he has slowed down in general and makes less out of it.

Aggression would bring to 88, his Rennes set should be 90, just to more highlight that line-breaking desire / style of his game (was caught off side 26 times last season!)

Fine with Mentality at 62, TW can be 68 +1 above Bowen.

Form/Condition at 2 would also be fine. He gets way more play time at Hull then he did in Rennes (5000 mins vs ~3000+ mins), at Rennes he too was erratic if given a steady run in the side, and he was finally turned into a super-sub, so with less minutes he managed to make more out of it. At Hull he is been a starter mostly, sometimes gets subbed due to his energy issues, and even though he had that bad first season in the Championship where his head was not right/unprofessional this past season he was not a constant force/unreliable...though Hull fucked themselves again by conceding so many goals, their offense is fine, its just a parade of goals at the back giving the a goal difference of 0 last year and -3 this year.

I had a typo in the first part. Supposed to be lps not sps. And yes at 77 for the lps since he’s mostly lifting the balls into good places and doesn’t drive them as much except for the odd occasion that’s definitely the outlier compared to the norm. As you said, he’s still got a good cRoss on him, but I don’t see yellow worthy accuracy enough when I watch all his crosses and he doesn’t place a decent amount in good places. Bowen is definitely a better shooter and I went conservative with his numbers since he is half scoring from follow ups and then going against Championship keepers he’s been able to get a good number in I think will be saved at the next level with better positioned and better reacting keepers. For instance I see Che Adams as a very sharp and accurate shooter while Bowen is a mixture of all accuracy, power, technique (definitely yellow I will plug again even in my conservative numbers), and swerve (unconservative numbers are closer to 79 sa and 83 st for a good number of times what he’s shown). He can definitely be better, but was more keeping it until we see it against better opposition and watching more games.

Back to Grosicki, I think his DS is still quite good *most* of the time. It can get stuck under his foot sometimes as he runs past it, but this seems to be an exception that happens once every few games and not a normal thing. Da I agree with. Speed stats as well, and I should have been even harsher on his acc. Agility is definitely green as well as you pointed out.

His attack can live with 70, but I see enough in the runs and movement in addition to overall attacking output to keep 72 or so. He makes good runs interchanging through the middle and the wing more at the end of the season when he was on great form than he was doing before.

Mentality is definitely trash. I like the higher aggression as well since he’s pretty much just constantly on attack mode. Very singular in his vision and always trying to get at the heart of the opposition and the goal.

LPA I am going to keep 80, did not see all his mis played crosses, but the new Form of 2 hopefully is enough to render him shit, think he still has real quality here.

Okey Dokey on Attack.

Ill update and freeze the old set ... I 'll freeze the new one too for posterity.

He does not score many FKs, but when he does they seem to be - as the kids say - "extra".

of course opposing keeper getting caught out is some dumb polak, Bialkowski, would have better luck under a sink not a cross bar.

You are right on the keeper properly bungling the goal versus Millwall, however he heard your doubts and scored another for you this weekend for the second game in a row! https://youtu.be/SCrVPSXFk6o?t=252 yes, this was not really a standout or consistent feature of his game prior to this mini run he is on so nothing worthy of increases unless he continues. https://youtu.be/SCrVPSXFk6o?t=552 this later in the game as well.

That was a nice one.

Transfermarkt has him listed with 5 in his career, still on lower end.

These two are carbon copies, before Hull, but I think mostly about Curl/Shot Power
https://youtu.be/43xr8r9I9Fw?t=1
https://youtu.be/2edX3fV2yw4?t=8

The precision is getting better at Hull, even at his attempts, maybe he will continue and then he might get a boost. Mostly in the past he only worked to give deliveries into the box, did not really go often for direct shot on goal, and few times I recall him doing I think he missed/did not make keeper work.
