I think he should be around 85 for bb. I think its more body position and smartness rather then pure strength. Regarding DA i agree, wouldn't mind slightly higher aswel. I think his short passing is underrated aswel. Def one of the best footballing defenders out there.

I'd suggest a higher def for this season aswell, in the absence of toby he's been the leader of the backline and he makes sanchez' presence on the pitch at least half-tolerable

Good job on the update, tho he should absolutely hit oranges there. And while now he sits back rather sniffing out attacks as much as he used to, I think 82 is a little low, especially as he already has very low agility and low acceleration (think his TS is higher than this).

Also, with BB, he's big and doesn't get pushed by really anyone. I think that's more than 3 points higher. Contrasted with his agility (which is accurate), he can't defend anyone himself.

Last thing, I understand no D-Line in the generic (and stupid) Pochettino defensive setups (tho I'd still give it to him), but how does he not have *Covering?

Again, Poch is always pressing and his teams play vertically in all facets, but they have to defend at points and this guy lives off closing gaps on recovery. Not sure who deserves it more.

yeah, i updated him when we started to rate def as an overall defensive quality of the game, and 88 was the least i thought he'd get for that, but looking at the global ladder i guess he could have more, especially comparing him to toby vertonghen has been especially consistent and much less error-prone in in this season and the season before. i'd bring toby down a bit too.
agree on both starts, i always forget to update them

though i didn't really undertand what you meant to say here

What I mean is that, along with all the lines playing forward and pressing, he gives far too much responsibility to Sanchez. That will cost them today.

I like Sanchez and believe he can be great, but besides the fact he does some dumb shit, I really hate when he plays as the middle man in the 3.

I'd utilize Jan's defensive abilities as Liverpool have with Van Dijk, which is to say let him lead it.

Hope that makes sense.

oh i see
personally, i'd rather have sanchez in the back 3 than 4, and ideally on the bench, cause he's too much of a liability without enough cover for his dumb shit in a 4 man system, i don't think he knows how to defend on that level, he'll always leave you exposed, not much vertonghen can do about that more than he does already. he has it all to be a top defender, he even improved his ball playing skils a lot, but he's still so bad tactically, i'm not sure he will be able to overcome that
i bet sanchez won't play today, just like a week ago

Would give you guys best chance. Toby and Jan have near a decade playing together and they work very well.

I think his DA should be higher. He keeps the ball close and tidy, which is essential given his low agility.
