Well, this is kind of complicated. This guy has been signed by São Paulo FC, as in Brazil (I don't know if in other countries too), there's a law which states that when a player has less than 6 months left in his contract, he can sign with ANY other club, and will transfer automatically, when his contract ends. If the new club (in case, São Paulo FC) wants the given player before the end of the contract, it will have to give the previous club (in case, Fluminense) a "monetary compensation". Exactly the case of Arouca: his contract with Fluminense expires in April. He already signed a 4-year deal with São Paulo FC. But São Paulo wants him before that. It would be thought that he would play for Fluminense unitl April, and then move to São Paulo FC in May. But today, as the Fluminense players showed up for the team's 1st 2009 training, Arouca was "hostiled" by Fluminense's ultras, and the coach René Simões stated that he doesn't count with Arouca, because he needs him for the entire Carioca Championship, and it will end after April so... here's the news:

Official news of the signing by São Paulo FC (translated):

http://translate.google.com.br/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.saopaulofc.net%2Fv4%2Fnoticias2NOVO2.asp%3FPLC_map_001_c%3D02.01%26PLC_cng_ukey%3D39805152501CZKG4SW&sl=pt&tl=en&hl=pt-BR&ie=UTF-8

Translated news (from reliable source) about his current situation (damn, he looks a lot like Bayern's Zé Roberto in this pic, doesn't he?):

http://translate.google.com.br/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fesporte.uol.com.br%2Ffutebol%2Fultimas%2F2009%2F01%2F06%2Fult59u182934.jhtm&sl=pt&tl=en&hl=pt-BR&ie=UTF-8

Well, I guess it's up to PMC to move him or not. The only question that remains is if he will play for São Paulo before or after April. He definitely won't play for Fluminense.

It looks like the Bosman rule, but it's not exactly the same:

"Bosman and all other EU football players were given the right to a free transfer at the end of their contracts, with the provision that they were transferring from a club within one EU Association to a club within another EU Association".

In Brazil they are allowed to sign within 6 months BEFORE the end of the contract. In Europe the contract must end.

That makes it even tougher on Brazilian teams to maintain it's best players. It perfectly explains the move of Kaká to AC Milan for such a small fee: 8 million Euros (or dollars, don't remember) at the time. He had about 8 months left in his contract with São Paulo FC. If 2 months would pass, he would be eligible to sign with any other club for free, so São Paulo had to take the first offer it received. It was either that or nothing.

Back to the topic, my suggestion is that Arouca should be moved. But it's not my decision...

theres only one thing that matters here... where is he technically eligible to play at... if he can't play for his new club before April but CAN play at Fluminense he'll stay here... if he's actually getting used or not doesn't matter...

Very true... an agreement should be reached by both clubs in the next few days. I'll post any official news ;)

Sorry PMC... I haven't been reading the news today, and bff found it and posted. Thanks mate!

Fluminense got the "compensation" I was talking about early. For letting Arouca leave before the end of his contract, Fluminense will get FW Roger on loan from São Paulo, for 1 year:

Anyway, here's a translated note from SPFC's Official website:

IkerFanta's 73/76-ATT/DEF values are almost for top level EPL player (near Toure Yaya or Barry). Did you use ladder?

Agree with this set and Box to Box too, I have just a doubt about his shotting skills, IMO SA 72 and ST 73 is too high for him, I don't know a exactly number but he was more like a SA 70 ST 69 than this, he just scored that goal vs Corinthians nothing more, and his being injured a lot injury C would not be unfair.
