I never said he needed to be. But he is the classic good tackler-good header-fast-strong-bad at passing-bad at dribbling type of player. Perfect for Chelsea if you ask me.

Yes , Chelsea doesn't need another " David Luiz " in the team for sure , this guy was very good today .
He's just 20 , and it's a big responsibility to play against Man City for a 20 year like him , but he has done very well .
Hope he continues so ... He seems to have a great future .

You actually have a point! I am following this guy since earlier days in l'ASSE but in respect to his height and silva's he's fine at high yellow (>87).

Honestly, you are overrating him. He's still 20 and he is <<<< Varane. NOt even monster like Varane gets yellow for response, yet he do?

They are 2 different Defenders , Varane has a completely Different style , Varane's main weapon is SPEED , He is not so responsive ,

Of course we can't compare them now ! IMO , in the future Zouma will become greater technically than Varane , Varane is not so good at positioning and does not read the game well , and from what I have seen , Zouma was perfect at positioning , simply perfect !

And don't forget Zouma has 79 response which is just 1 point below yellows ! So Yeah Zouma can be on yellows easily !

response isn't really about how good a player is, yes good defenders tend to have good res geneerally and poor defenders generally have low res however it is more complicated, res is more about how poractive a defender is, low res player backs of and defends the space behind him, where as a high res players chases players trying to win the ball, a case in point of very high res defender who is crap is the great David Luiz
