The squad is pretty much complete here on PSD. For his the club of which I am a fan, it was the first team that I updated here in the site.
Some observations:
- Palmeiras plays a direct football (much criticized by the media and fans) and therefore some values like TW are low (especially for the WF's and AMF's) since these have an essential work in attacking the spaces in the movements of transition to the attack . This occupation of spaces aggressively results in a characteristic of the attribute RESPONSE and AGRESSION being high for those positions (WF - since they are close to the opposing goal to have amplitude and depth; AMF - that attack the space created by Deyverson and goes up to attack (depth) the second ball after Deyverson make his classic pivot move - most in the air).
In short:
- Palmeiras is a team that attacks in a fluid, transient and aggressive way. The team mark's by individual short fittings on the oposition ball carrier, folding the pass line into an intense covering system.
Alsom they had many difficulties in proposing the game, building up.
As with any non-positional system, the SB's are naturally offensive but by the tactics of the team has a lot of defensive work. As with any non-positional attack system, the SB on the side that is on the ball is free to rise to the attack while the opposing SB is in a more defensive position.
DMF's is essential in the pressure with the opponent that is with the ball and in the lateral covers.
The CMF's is an aggressive infiltrator but also helps in building-up when it is necessary to use this tactic.
The AMF's practically little build-up and is worried about attacking the spaces of the CF or making a table and leaving aggressively to the goal (For that reason Lucas and Guerra does not have regularity in the team).
The WF's are extremely aggressive and have full infiltration freedom, however, they do not participate in the off ball building-up moves being fundamental and have breadth and depth in the opponent's defensive field). They are the main playmakers of the team when a more cadenced game is needed. That is, little approach in buid-up (more aggressiveness in positioning) but essences in playmaking.
Do you guys think that, due to the quality of the squad, the team could produce more? What are your expectations for the team this year?
