I don't see why Ulises is so surprised. This is Barcelona, the best teams with the best players, where Kick-and-rush Eto'o is considered to be as good a dribbler as Ashley Young, Jose Antonio Valencia, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Fernando Torres.

Nah, but Barca players are rated fairly. -Nod- :ugeek:

Please don't take that tone. Many people have tried to use logic and reason in the Barca threads and been knocked back with suggestions. The Puyol thread is a classic example. Instead of rating his positioning along side his direct Champions League rivals we are told this is incorrect. Then we are told a player should be rated with relation to their TEAM.

So what do you expect peoples attitude to be when reading these threads?
It's so easy just to say someone is a hater isn't it?

I think people should wait before they start upping Pique's aggression "a little bit" and trying to gauge his passing with relation to players who have been doing it for several seasons now. (Irony is he'd probably need to be raised again anyway) ...Can you honestly blame me for thinking that logic is likely to be knocked back because this is Barcelona?

Situation with Pique is a complete opposite, this guy has been doing like this for a couple of seasons already, he's even been good passer in Man Utd, needless to say in U-21 team and Zaragoza last year. And I think you are being too preconcieved about Barca, mate. I think overall stats in the team's section are allright, although some are defo overrated.

That's absolutely fair enough, but you can't blame one for feeling a little cynical towards it.

does any one else feel that his defense could go up a few points?? i mean i personally don't think he is worse than djourou(in def and res). imho i think he is better but that maybe cause im a barca supporter. what do you guys feel about this??

I support both teams and I have seen almost all games of this two teams (+ Juve :)) this season. I think, he is better than Djourou. So, at least DEF 83 and RES should be 83-84. Mentality 81 + Condition and Consistency = 6.

In your opinion it was. But I doubt highly that I was alone in my musings.. I stand by what I said about aggression, but I'd agree to the def and mentality.

I agree with those who think he should be raised in some characteristics.
He's been absolutely awesome this year, it's not exaggerated to say he's been one of the 3-4 best defender in Europe.
I've watched Barcelona very often and i noticed that (as it was for Chiellini which now is probably Italian best defender) he has a lot to improve in pure defensive abilities, so a value higher than 83-84 would be excessive.
Anyway i feel he has been with messi, xavi and iniesta one of the 4 pillars of this great Barcelona. His passing is rated well considering he's a good passer but always a defender, what could be improved is DEF, response !!!!, header, jump, mentality, tw and condition. I leave the suggestions to people which knows him and Spanish ladders better than me :) .

Consitency should be 6 or even 7, he is with Xavi and Iniesta one of the most consistent players of this staff.

I suggest to increase his LPA/LPS.
As i noticed that his crosses are one of his main strengths, as well as his BB and his positioning. I think he's on pair with :

80: Johnny HEITINGA (85), Sergio RAMOS (84), RAÚL GARCÍA (84), MAXI Rodríguez (83), Thiago Carleto (82), Pedro MUNITIS (82), José BARKERO (81), Rubén DE LA RED (80), FILIPE Luís (79), Miguel Ángel CORONA* (79), Juan ALBÍN (79), ADRIANO Correia (79), SERGIO GARCÍA (79), LASS Diarra (78), Ivica DRAGUTINOVIC (77), Seydou KEITA* (77), CAPI* (77), VALDO (77), SISI (77), Matias FERNANDEZ* (76), MANÉ (74)

Something in the low 80's should suit him well.

sometimes (around 75-90 min) he plays like as DM and combine well with his teammates buti think that his "problem" is his individuality when he goes up (he try to dribble some players and make a decisive pass in the oposite box, like the match against Chelsea) :)
