I so think T. Janssen got over Schaars in the hierarchy.

But Schaars is still in the selection (strangely enough). We could replace De Jong with Janssen for the time being.
I don't think Emanuelson should be in the first selection btw, but it's not sure who should be instead.

Missing Recent Call-ups:

Goalkeepers:
Sander Boschker - Twente

Defenders:
Ronnie Stam - Wigan
André Ooijer - Ajax
Edson Braafheid - Hoffenheim

Midfielders:
Kevin Strootman - Utrecht
Royston Drenthe - Hércules
Orlando Engelaar - PSV
David Mendes da Silva - Salzburg

Schaars should be replaced in the selection by Theo Janssen. Boulahrouz by Wisgerhof.

Emanuelson and Van Bommel play at Milan, Afellay at Barcelona, Babel at Hoffenheim.

Just asking, why were they removed? Schaars was called until last friendly in November, and Boulahrouz in UEFA match in October, in my opinion it was a bit early to remove them since both them are historic member of team (I mean, we aren't talking about a common Lens or Vorm), are there particular reasons?

Well the reason is that Janssen is now among the 4 'CMs" in the squad and definitely passed Schaars in the hierarchy.
At the moment I think van Marwijk prefers Wisgerhof/Maduro over Boulah this season. Boulah played his last cap in the semi-final of the World Cup, while the other 2 players played a couple of games for our NT this season. Wisgerhof/Janssen/Maduro all gained some additional CL experience this season, where Boulah is still being injured/a subsitute again.

New call-ups:
Goalkeepers: Michel Vorm (Utrecht), Sander Boschker (Twente Enschede) and Jelle ten Rouwelaar (NAC Breda).

Defenders: Khalid Boulahrouz (VfB Stuttgart / GER), Urby Emanuelson (AC Milan / ITA), John Heitinga (Everton / ENG), Joris Mathijsen (Hamburg / GER), Erik Pieters (PSV Eindhoven), Ron Vlaar (Feyenoord) and Gregory van der Wiel (Ajax Amsterdam).

Media: Ibrahim Afellay (Barcelona / ESP), Mark van Bommel (AC Milan / ITA), Theo Janssen (Twente), Nigel de Jong (Manchester City / ENG), Hedwiges Maduro (Valencia / ESP), Wesley Sneijder (Inter Milan / ITA), Kevin Strootman (Utrecht) and Rafael van der Vaart (Tottenham Hotspur / ENG).

Forwards: Eljero Elia (Hamburg / GER), Klaas Jan Huntelaar (Schalke 04/GER), Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool / ENG), Robin van Persie (Arsenal / ING) and Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich / GER).

Maybe it was early to remove Boulahrouz :?

Cillessen and Krul? Unexpected this is. Personally I would pick Vermeer in the pre-selection.

I also don't see Wisgerhof in the pre-selection and he's not injured or anything right? I think perhaps we put him too early in the first 23.

Maybe Wisgerhof told van Marwijk he is too tired? Or maybe a surgery planned? I dunno.

Changes:
Mathijsen: Malaga
Theo Janssen: Ajax
Bruma: HSV
Schaars: Sporting
Van Nistelrooy: Malaga
Probably very soon:
De Zeeuw: Spartak Moskow
Strootman: PSV

Some changes I would make in the selection:
Velthuizen -> Krul. (Krul is doing good, Velthuizen doesn't play)
Wisgerhof or Emanuelson -> Boulahrouz. (Boulahrouz is always in the selection and plays occasionally for Holland)
De Zeeuw -> Strootman. (It seems Van Marwijk likes Strootman much. De Zeeuw isn't doing well. Even Schaars is prefered over De Zeeuw I think)

VdV plays DM/CM there from time to time, but it's not the standard formation.
Are you sure about the wingers being SMF's? I always play with 2 WF's like the formation is shown at the moment and it's pretty realistic.

Strootman in for Janssen?
Bruma for Wisgerhof?
Krul for Velthuizen?
Wijnaldum for de Zeeuw?
Braafheid for Emanuelson?

And what about Boulah?

Strootman for Janssen is ok.
I'd put Boulahrouz in for Wisgerhof. We made a mistake in the first place to put Boulahrouz out. He always is in the selection. I think Bruma will be selected regularly soon though, but not sure who will be out.
Krul for Velthuizen is ok.
Isn't it too early to put Wijnaldum in the standard selection? I would put De Zeeuw or Schaars in it for the time being.
Braafheid for Emanuelson is ok.

Btw, Lens is currently in the selection ánd in the recent call-ups.
I made The Netherlands 1978 topic not long ago. Can be added in the Older Competition Rosters.
