This last space is really open for an advanced midfielder or a forward.
This space owned to Lucas but he is almost out of this fight.
I would say the same for Ronaldinho. Scolari has some particular evaluations... He considers some social and relationship skills that don't contribute to Dinho.
Ganso should maintain either improve his level until the end of this year to have a chance.
I would say the same for Kaká.
WIllian or Robinho can make a real improve on their chances if they enjoy their chances.

Maxwell (LB) and Lucas Leiva (DM) are now a Top Dog.
3rd GK and 4th CB are still opened.

What about Philipe Coutinho? Do you think he has chance to be part of the WC squad? He's such an outstanding player.

Yeah, he improved so much his Level on EPL.
But I think he is in a bad situation regarding NT WC 2014 Squad.
Scolari is a very pragmatical coach. It is very hard to preview him calling someone who was never part of the group.
Coutinho should have stunning performances to at least be considered, for this last space, fighting with Willian, Robinho, Kaká, Ganso,Lucas, R10 or replacing someone injuried.

Scolari conceded an Interview saying that he has 25 players.
So he has just two doubts.
They are the 3rd GK and the other attacker/attacking midfielder (who was Lucas Mouras some months ago).
Victor and Cavallieri fight to the 3rd GK vacancy.
For the attacker vacancy Robinho is a Top Dog now, after enjoying his chances against Honduras and Chile. Willian is another possibility.
Scollari has liked Robinho's performance against Chile and Hoonduras and his relationship with teammates, specially Neymar.

If the Cup were tomorrow, Robinho would be inside.

Formation will depend on Fred's condition at World Cup time.
In normal conditions he is holder, but he usually get injured.

Without Fred, Jô would be the substitute but I am not sure about Scolari's belief on him.
So there is a possibility, in case of Fred injury, Neymar would play as a SS, not a CF, in a formation without a CF using Neymar as attacking reference.

Easily one of the weakest (if not the weakest) squads Brazil has ever assembled, although a good team can still be made from that. About certain abscences... it seems to me that Scolari is simply calling players he trusts and knows well ("his" players, sort of speak), you could also argue that he's making some important mistakes and his job requires precisely to know well all the men he has at his disposition in order to be able to assemble the strongest squad possible. I guess in this case results are what really matters so we'll know in two months if he's doing it right or wrong.

I disagree.
The squad is not weak. For sure it is young and imature but still has good names.
The 2002 squad, analysing at that time and still now there were a lot of names that could be considered at least controversial. (Anderson Polga, Roque Jr, Vampeta, Edilson, Luizão). But Ronaldo and Rivaldo made the difference and they won.
The 2006 squad is maybe one of the strongest we have ever had (Dida, Cafu,Roberto Carlos, Lucio, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Adriano and Ronaldo). Despite of these stars, that team was an epic fail.

Anyway, as I said on some posts above, Scolari has his names, as we used to say in Brazil, his family and he considers this a lot.
I liked the list, I realy missed just Miranda. Maybe Rafinha and Coutinho could have a chance but I also like the names that he has instead of them, Maicon and Hernanes.

Updated. Numbers are still not official. I'll update the formation too ASAP.
Talking about Brazil, it's hard to say "weak" players, regardless of their names, they're a good team and they're playing home, so we can expect a great football from them.

Until the official announcement you can use these numbers.

They are more accurate.

I disagree.
The squad is not weak.

Who said the contrary?

I stated I find it one of the weakest squads Brazil has ever assembled, well at least in my lifetime (not that much, I know, still, it's what I have to compare). That doesn't make it a "weak" squad, just "weak" in my eyes compared to what they've managed to offer previously.
