Very good display today, although the opposition - with all due respect to Wolves - were pretty poor. While not having Mikel's physique, Romeu seems to work more effectively in Chelsea's style of play right now. Wonder if AVB will keep fielding him in the next row of tough matches.

I hope so. I don't have much faith in Mikel becoming much better than he is now and think Romeu will surpass him soon if he gets enough playing time.

It's about time 'til AVB discover the fact that he is the best holding midfielder right now for Chelsea.

he needs an update in terms of being better...I think his defence, response and teamwork need definitely to go up. Him defending its very clean, tackling and positioning solid, he also have very good reactions, normally intercepting and anticipating the opposition; and finally i also believe his TW is a bit better, like 84 for me, he is pretty good distributor, he knows what he is capable of attacking ( nothing ) so he plays very intelligently and safe, he is also always an option when really needed, and not to mention the fact that he have good active communication with the team

His short passing is also a bit better than this, probably deserves low yellows, don't see a 6-point gap between him and Busquets, and of course a 5-point one between him and Obi Mikel is just ridiculous.

I'd like to see more before updating him as he hasn't played a lot and hasn't faced real competition yet. He's looking good so far, like I and others have said, that's for sure.

i do also think his passing is better, pretty conservative but good. Im fine if you want to wait, but with the actual stats its kind of DIFFICULT to be as accurate as he is performing EASY passes...I was searching about him, so i knew he would have a good passing percentage, but i got very surprised with such good IMO, his passing percentage accuracy is 93.8% ! Having made 136 of 145 passes...His long balls accuracy have been very good also, havin 9 out of 10 succesful until now. I know he should not be based by this facts, but its something to take into account

Fair enough, I'll update SPA.
Again a classy performance by Romeu btw, very exciting. I'll give him an update after the City game.

You really think so? He's really slow and comparable to Busquets in this, though with a slightly better burst.

I think this guy has a great future, and it showed against Newcastle and Valencia, which incidentally are two very important games, had enough temperament to function in the best manner, will not be Essien or Mikel corpulence but it is quite technical, good positioning, and think fast and gives accurate passes, and what the statistics say, good passer, but see it as paying for the remainder of the season. any more reviews?

Might be a bit early but I think that he's shown to be more defensively secure than Mikel already. Excellent distribution as his pass completion rate will tell you but doesn't necessarily play conservative passes either like Mikel does. He can pick out some really nice passes 'between the lines' so to speak but id rate Mikel better at long passes. Pretty slow off the ball but decently quick on it.

This is what I've added in my option file recently, im sure Evans and Stu are already working on a full set though.

Those look very good Brezza, nice to get a view from a non-Chelsea fan. Not a green DEF yet imo but the rest pretty accurate. Like you said it might be early but you can't deny the class of his performances.
Jump needs a raise too, would put him on a 80 and AGG on 71. The rest of the set is fine imo.
