Guillermo Ochoa

Spoiler: show
Guillermo Ochoa, the young Mexican goalkeeper. Started his career at the age of 18 at his club América under Leo Beenhakker. In 2004, Adolfo Rios retired and so this youngster inhereted the number 1 of the Mexican side. Since the end of 2004 Ochoa has played every match for América bar any injuried or national duties. In this year's Copa America, Ochoa was the only goalkeeper to only conceed one goal during the whole tournament. He is also the only Mexican player to be nominated for the Ballon D'Or and interest from Manchester United, AC Miland and AFC Ajax have been rumoured.

His biggest feature by far are his fast reflexes. This guy is really a beast when it comes to fast saves from closeby and he can also tap out the long distance shots by combining his fast reflexes with a supreme jumping ability. His positioning isn't superb all the time and he's fairly strong for such a young player. His handling is good for such a youngster too and ofcourse he's a very speedy goalkeeper. He's quick to come out of his goal and when he does, he usually gets away with taking the ball. The lack of his positioning he usually makes up with his great agility, reflexes and jumping ability. On his day, this guy can make saves most goalkeepers of his age can only dream of.

He could be a grat replacement for Schwarzer.

I didn't see Michel's qualities... I must watch a little bit on youtube... But that is great for Mexican football.. There are two young and really good keepers for national team...

Whats up with ochoa these days seriously today he looked slow to react on some goals for sure on his best day he would make that save.

Lately, his response has been slow. I feel like his going down maybe he is unhappy in America. Hopefully in the summer transfer window, he'll leave to Europe.

He is at Ajaccio so he don't go to Paris. I think it is his choise, Paris have ever a goalkeaper (Douchez) so with two good goalkeaper it will be not good...

Ajaccio will have a good team so it's a good choise ;)

What the heck is he doing in a weak team like Ajaccio that will possibily go to League 2. I also expected him to go to a much better team or remind at Club America since a good team buy him for a high price. Because 2-3 years ago there was alot of rumors that other teams offering 7-8 millions usd and it was rejected from Club America.

I never liked this guy, always seemed to me overrated by the media. Ajaccio imo is a good enough team for him, a insecure keeper with great reflex. Two changes that seems necesary to reflect him:
KS- His KS is ridicolous tbh a switch between him and Sirigu could be an option(maybe Sirigu could be an 82, but this is not the point), This guy simply cant catch a ball seriously, Landreau looks like fucking peak Buffon if we compare them.
Ment-This is something i would like to questionate specially lately his last time in Mexico he looked more interested of changing of team than making a good performance desconcentrated and uncofident, and after that face palm error last match against Nice? really make me feel he is no more than an 77.
Hearing Ligue 1 mods opinion would be apreciated. ;)

Yes I agree with you Interist ;) When I see him he is just fantastic to make incredibly save by a good jump and response wich it good on his set. But he is very bad on his lines. He don't have a good positions and don't feel good on his box. I think GK can be lower like you say.

Nice goal from Estrada's foot. 93 Response should was enough to catch that.

well from his time in América, i liked him a lot, amazing keeper tbh, a keeper who never got his chance in a decent team, i imagined him doing well if Atlético Madrid bought him.

Gomes Handling is pretty comparable to Ochoa one, eventhough gomes makes epic fails because he thinks its an easy ball sub-estimate them and there is it a stupid goal, he is decent catching balls. Memo in the other hand punches several balls and its weird to see him catch a ball like. he is not on the level of Spanish keeper Guaita, like I said a swap between him and Sirigu is a serious posibility.

well maybe its me but, i don't see him under a 82 tbh...Sirigu can be at 82 aswell tho, i guess the best solution would be to wait and see more games...
