I suggest a little more defence.... something around 78 would be fair I think, for me he's one of the best DMFs in the BuLi, plus he played a fantastic Euro.

I rather think its his RESP that wins him so many balls, I would say DEF 76/77 and RESP: 84-86 would be more accurate.

So what?! Age shouldn't play a role, only the qualities he has as player...

I would say Def 77/78 and Response 85/86

Paddy, if you are going to go to the trouble of fixes ages in every thread, why not post the birth date. So that it will be easier for the ages to be updated by mods in the future. If the birth date is already there, its not a big deal if it takes a little while to be updated. People can usually figure out the simple math ;)

Ah, sorry mate, I thought your "He's 24" would be your point why he shouldn't have Response 84-86

I think he's stronger. Have you seen him play? Very good player. Funny though, because you could see in his eyes that he knows he's sold his soul. Hahaha.

I haven't seen that much of him but from what i've seen (mostly in the NT) I didn't think he was this strong, but I get the feeling that you have seen more of him than me so I guess you know him better. Haha i guess the Abu Dhabi owners will eat his soul for dinner

de Jong is a great player with a very decent balance, he should slot straight into the team in a formation resembling something like this:

--------------------- HART ---------------------
------------------------------------------------
ZABALETA --- RICHARDS ------ DUNNE --- BRIDGE
------------------------------------------------
------------ KOMPANY ---- de JONG ------------
------------------------------------------------
W-PHILLIPS --------- IRELAND --------- ROBINHO
------------------------------------------------
-------------------- BELLAMY ------------------

Although i guess Bellamy can switch to the right, stick another striker such as Jo up front. Elano can also obviously play in irelands place, and push Ireland to the right if needs be. Mark Hughes is going to have A LOT of options.

Aye, I think he's really gonna shore them up. Make them a bit more solid and balanced. 'Made for the Prem.

Looking at the response ladder for midfielders, surely De Jong's response could go up? I mean his reading of the game is no worse than Essien's, who is on 87 and is even comparable to De Rossi, also on 87. Surely he could be put on par with these two.
