Colin Bell | 1969-74

Postby PES Stats Database » 2017 Sep 29, 15:59

Club: Manchester City FC

One of England's greatest all round midfielders and the air apparent to succeed Bobby Charlton for the England team (although it didnt quite work out as well at international level) Bell was known for his busting runs through midfield and his limitless stamina giving him him the name Nijinsky after a famous racehourse at the time. class when he is controlling the ball, he always seemed composed with his first touches but managed to combine this with superb attacking runs forward off the ball. His contant movement into the channels and a supply of goals with his impeccable timing in the box was invaluable to the succesful Manchester City sides of the late 60's early 70's

Why IT C if he played in this period 231 matches in all competitions, over 46 matches per every season?

After 1974. year he suffered serious injury..

In 1975, at the age of 29, Bell severely injured his right knee against Manchester United in a challenge with Martin Buchan during a League Cup match at Maine Road. He attempted a return in 1977, but called time on his career in 1979 having never recaptured the form..

Return to “70's”
