Eredivisie ladder discussion

Postby PES Stats Database » 2011 Sep 28, 12:46

Lets make this the place for ladder discussions about Eredivisie players.

Lets start with the TECH ladder.

Overall top:
86 Mounir EL HAMDAOUI
85 Nicolás LODEIRO
84 Ismail AISSATI, Dušan TADIC, Christian ERIKSEN, Georginio WIJNALDUM, Maarten MARTENS, Dries MERTENS, Giorgi CHANTURIA, Nacer CHADLI, Oussama ASSAIDI, Samuel ARMENTEROS
83 Jan-Arie VAN DER HEIJDEN, Theo JANSSEN
82 Karim EL AHMADI, John GOOSSENS, Filip ĐURICIC, Lasse SCHØNE, Ola TOIVONEN, RABIU Ibrahim, Siem DE JONG, Miralem SULEJMANI, Erton FEJZULLAHU, Wiljan PLUIM

It seems weird that there are so many at 84, and I dont think Wijnaldum should be up there. Maybe he should come 1 down? Maybe some of that list could go +1....I dunno. Also Lodeiro and Fejzullahu are kinda awkward simply because they barely played in the Eredivisie.

The "worst" attacking players (SM, AM, WF, SS, CF):
77 Laurent DELORGE, Pontus WERNBLOOM, Charlton VICENTO, Wesley VERHOEK, Bas DOST, EVERTON Ramos da Silva, Frank DEMOUGE, Jozy ALTIDORE, Michael UCHEBO, Ruud BOYMANS
76 Rowin VAN ZAANEN, Charlison BENSCHOP, Guyon FERNANDEZ, Juha HAKOLA, Ola JOHN, Mads JUNKER, Nicklas PEDERSEN
75 Genaro SNIJDERS

I feel Everton shouldnt be in here. He could easily go for +1 or 2. Pedersen doenst have bad TECH either. Demouge should come down to 75 IMO. Uchebo maybe -1?

Then I select midfielders only:
Then I see Brama (79) is 2 points higher then Fer (77). Doesnt make too much sense. I guess Brama could come down 2 and Fer could go up 1 or 2.
The lowest rated midfielders are:
75 Arnaud SUTCHUIN Djoum, Gianluca NIJHOLT, Yuri ROSE
74 Eyong ENOH, Niels WELLENBERG

Which seems kinda fair, apartfrom the fact that Nijholt isnt that bad. I guess his TECH and flair are his stronger points.

Then I go to top defenders:
81 Gregory VAN DER WIEL
80 Daley BLIND
79 Daniel Fernández, Emil JOHANSSON
78 Jan VERTONGHEN, Wilfred BOUMA, Daryl JANMAAT, Michihiro YASUDA, Mihai NESU
77 Erik PIETERS, Nicky KUIPER, Simon POULSEN, Youssef EL-AKCHAOUI
76 Jagoš VUKOVIC, Nick VIERGEVER, Toby ALDERWEIRELD, Bruno SILVA, Dwight TIENDALLI, Guram KASHIA, Jacob LENSKY, Maikel KIEFTENBELD, Nathaniel WILL, Roberto ROSALES

Players that stand out here: Fernandez never caught me having good TECH? What do you guys think? Nesu definitely shouldnt be at the level of Vertonghen (the question is, shouldnt he be moved to retired in his current condition?). Vukovic should be rated lower then Enoh (74) IMO. Not so sure about Kashia, Will and Tiendalli in this group either, maybe -1 for all of them? Poulsen might also be a bit more realistic when -1 or 2. Cant really rate Johansson yet.

When I look at the worst defenders in terms of TECH:
72 Ron VLAAR, Michael TIMISELA, Ramon LEEUWIN, Vincent LACHAMBRE
71 Antoine VAN DER LINDEN, Christiaan KUM
70 Arjen SWINKELS, MARCELO, Ramon ZOMER, Virgil VAN DIJK
69 Michel BREUER
68 Bart BIEMANS, Birger MAERTENS, Leen VAN STEENSEL, Rasmus BENGTSSON
67 Kevin VAN DIERMEN, Rens VAN EIJDEN, Tyrone LORAN

What stands out is: Should Vlaar be in this list? Wouldnt +1 or 2 be better for him? Bengtsson actually seems quite comfy on the ball, so he should be 73 at least too. vd Linden could be +1 or 2 aswell. vd Struijk (now at 74) should also be in this list I feel.

Lets have a bit of discussion about it here, and let make it public if you find anything remarkable too.

PSD has recently been looking closely at what the Attack stat actually does..

It's basically creating danger, or atleast, that's how PSD is rating it right now, we should take a good look at it, because some players might be rated wrong....

Oh and mcmattie, no offense but, like 75% of all your stats are basically copied from FIFA, I don't know if they ALL work right, but I doubt it...

The ability of creating danger or being dangerous is my interpretation as well.

I take different things into account when creating stats, including FIFA. I think in many cases they rate players very well and it can be a good source if you need more info on players. Of course it's a different game and thus different kind of stats, so interpreting their info is not always possible.

Because it's not weird to see a player play good for 2 matches, and then shite for the next 5, that's like average for the Eredivisie, only the players who keep up a good level for extended periods get higher form...

I agree with LeMisérable. I'd say the average is between 4 or 5. Players who play always or often may have 5 or even 6. The rest should be fine with 4.

Aren't we looking at the ladders too much? A player deserves what HE deserves, not what he deserves as opposed to others...

I think our general rating for BB is pretty weird. We now have players with both ridiculously high AND low BB in this league. I wouldn't say there's no variation irl. But I think it's closer together...
