His ball control is way better than 83... on the other hand i think TW and speed may be a little overrated

He's still an engine for the team, as any play maker is, but his off the ball movement is just not as good as other players who are rated way below in TW, His passing (which seems ever slightly better than current stats) is the key to act as a great play maker, not so much his vision.
And he is way better than Brahimi in regards to ball trapping and overall technique, Oliver is a wonder kid but Simeone seems to prefer other type of players. Brahimi on a good day is an amazing dribbler but seems like that's all he has, if he can't dribble he doesn't add value.

Well tbf it's not all on SImeone, Oliver played really poorly when he was given a chance, and it's not that he tried too hard neither.

Can be, honestly dunno, but seems to me Simeone prefers tenacious players over technically gifted ones. And the fact that Gaitan, a player i absolutely love to watch and the former engine of Benfica's attack, is not playing, only reinforces that idea.

He is playing, but I can see what you mean. I do believe the system does not benefit these kind of players.

Take for granted that players like Ganso, who are flashy and cultural yet lazy ass, would not have any chance under the guidance of managers like Simeone.

"Technique is not being able to juggle a ball 1000 times. Anyone can do that by practicing. Then you can work in the circus. Technique is passing the ball with one touch, with the right speed, at the right foot of your team mate."

I think his TW should be significantly lower, in fact i think a plain 80 may be already too much for him. He's a playmaker alright, but that alone is not enough to make him deserve such a high value. Considering he's got all the passing and technical skills to excel as a playmaker, he falls short due to a lack of intensity and vision too.

Has been playing a lot of matches as LMF this season, either replacing Nolito or when Lopetegui changes to 4-4-2 formation
