Tim Matavž

Postby PES Stats Database » 2009 Aug 06, 04:04

Notes From Ajacied_Breda1:
Matavz is a little poacher, a tall but lanky striker that's got a nose for the goal. In his previous seasons for Groningen and last season out on loan to Emmen, it became evident that Tim lacked match-fitness and wasn't able to play 90 minutes; which is something he has improved on but he still struggles with near the end of a full 90 minutes.

His running, especially off the ball, has increased a lot. He has grown from a naïve forward that relied on crosses into a smart poacher that knows how to time his runs very well and breaks the line on a through ball quite frequently.

His finishing has also improved, becoming better at scoring from hard angles as well as increasing the accuracy of his "easy" tap-ins.

In short, Matavz is a promising young forward that has time on his side and is steadily improving for this Groningen squad. He's also in contention for a spot on Slovenia's senior squad for the upcoming World Cup.

From time to time he showed great technical ability aswell yesterday. Saw one amazing first touch assiting to Bacuna's goal and had a nice dribble earlier in the games aswell. Seems really confident and determined.

If he doesn't leave at the winter transfer i'dd be surprised. I really hoped Sporting would sign this player instead of Van Wolfswinkel. They where interessted. But never pulled through.
And yes, he did show some signs of tecnical skills.

I feel he is a bit quicker then this. When he breakes away there is not getting him back. I feel TS: 83-85 wouldnt be overrating him. Heading might be 80s-worthy too.

His TS, DA, TECH, AGI all seem a bit underrated if you ask me.

Im thinking that we should decrease his MENT. He doesnt do anything based on determination. Im thinking of MENT 74.

Yeah, on the other hand he doenst let his head hang when he misses an opportunity. I guess 75 would be fine yeah.

I would decrease Ment and TW some more. Imo he isn't a teamplayer and doesn't help the team. He only thinks of scoring.

STA and Condition should probably be lower too. Advocaat is not exactly happy with his condition at the moment.

I agree with lower Cond. I'm actually kinda annoyed with the fact that 6 is sort of the standard value.

Exually Mcmattie answered it for me. Condition 4 should be the average. Im updating myself condition in the Portuguese leagues. And if 4 is the average Matavz should be under it imo. Its not proven, but in my experience players with lower condition tend to have lower arrows. And Matavz hasnt played 'red arrow' in a long time. 4 should be the average and anything higher then that must be proven.
