How To Rate ATT/DEF Awareness Correctly

Postby Eternal Night » 2012 Dec 06, 19:00

Yes, we are rating ATT/DEF Awareness wrongly.
We are using too many "1/2" or "2/1" values, especially for SB's, SMF's, AMF's and WF's. Well, usually Konami doesn't use these values except for a few players.
We don't give importance to this issue and I think it has enough value in the behavior of each player.
And a good set with "1/1" is the destruction of the player, he behaves as a golfer and not as a football player... Konami knows how to value "ATT / DEF".
I use Konami's defaults for the behavior of the players except for Serie A, Epsi is doing a extraordinary work.

Equivalences (more or less... ):

PES 2011 "S/DEF" = PES 2013 "1/3"
PES 2011 "DEF" = PES 2013 "2/3"
PES 2011 "BAL" = PES 2013 "2/2" or "3/3" (for very complete, enforcer and competitive players)
PES 2011 "OFF" = PES 2013 "3/2"
PES 2011 "S/OFF" = PES 2013 "3/1"

I started this "discussion" in Mehdi Benatia's (Udinese Calcio) thread: viewtopic.php?f=195&t=18976&start=40#p438400

I hate making posts like this but I think I had to do it. I hope you like it :)

And even if there aren't many players on this position rated with this awareness by Konami that doesn't mean that this is how it has to be. To me Özil still is the personification of 2/1. ;)
2/1 for a SMF should be tested, but even in 4-4-2 side midfielders are supposed to be the driving players of the team and I don't see any of them given 2/1, unless he is a Beckham-like side midfielder, a passer positioned near the touchline.

If Ozil is a personification of 2/1, how would you rate Gourcuff then? 1/0? ;-)

with 2/1 an winger still runs down to the goalline to cross. He just won't run into the box to score himself or cut back pass.

I understand. Well, it is not what is demanded from a world class side midfielder in best European leagues. That is wing-back job, I think. I admit there are many side midfielders that play this way, but most of them aren't even in PES database, I suppose.

Korinov wrote:There are some exceptions. For playmaking AMFs who do not usually venture into the area seeking balls and tend to stay outside (except when they're on the ball and dribble their way in), 2/1 is the best ratio. I.e. someone like Isco does actually need the 2/1 ratio we've given him, otherwise he'll be roaming the opposition area in a poachy way just too often, and that's not how he plays. Same for Valerón.

I agree many players have their ratios wrong, mostly due to the change of format in the database, and we're yet to fix it. But I can guarantee that recently updated players in La Liga are correctly rated.

And another thing, keepers' correct ratio (at least in 99% of them) is 2/2. I'm saying this as we still have a shitload of them outdated in the old 1/3 we were giving them for 2012.

That is fixed with he P01 (Classic nº10)

Well, how would Iván de la Peña be rated? Keeping in mind he has P01 - Classic Nº10.
