Re: Karim Benzema

I think he plays more like a CF than this, his link-up play and 1-2s etc are really good but he isn't a striker who is regularly dropping into the AMF area regularly to link up midfeild and attack. He usually stays pretty advanced and makes runs for himself when the midfielders are in possession. Th...

he reminds me of Hleb a bit. shows great touches and close control at high speeds at times, still raw though

Re: Xavi Hernández | 2004-2006 & 2008-2011 & 2011-2012

2012/13 was a bad season for him iirc. on the topic of sets I'd say Xavi in 08/09 and Xavi in the 10/11 season were fairly different players, the former played closer to the box, had more incisive passing, tended to link-up more in the box. the latter was solidly a deep-lying playmaker, seldom got f...

His footwork is from the gods, combines with both feet sooo well. Been playing beautifully in the last few weeks (months?)

really like this guy's game, good incisive passing from a winger and always playing with his head-up. 1-touch pass and higher spa are deserved

Re: Javier Mascherano

he's a monster CB the last few weeks, I didn't think he'd become one but wow. over the course of the season though I agree with above that probably shouldn't have the highest consistency rating possible

Re: Lionel Messi

a lot of top players like to come close and demand the ball to feet which crowds space and causes problem (Thiago Alcantara has/used to have this issue), but I never see Messi do that despite his status in the team. he's very intelligent and selfless with his movements, even if he isn't like David S...

Re: Lionel Messi

SPA, LPA, FKA and perhaps acceleration are underrated, not blind Messi fanboyism but it'll probably get taken as that... There's so much evidence for his passing and free-kicks to be higher. His bursts of pace are still good as ever if he doesn't run as much as before so I think 91-92 is a fair valu...

Re: Zinedine Zidane | 1998-2002 | 2002-2003 | 2003-2006

isn't such a large attack decrease from the 2nd to 3rd set a bit harsh?. he was less consistent and lost a lot of physical prowess but he was still easily capable of being the most dangerous player on the pitch. maybe that wasn't often see at Madrid but that was a circus side at the team with no bal...

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo | 2003-04 | 2006-07 | 2007-08 | 2010-12

I like the ideas in the sets, one thing I feel isn't right though is the attack values in his prime United years. Without going over specific games, him breaking RVN/Henry's goal-scoring records in whilst playing as a traditional LW is a ridiculous achievement. He hadn't really turned into the LW/CF...

Re: Mesut Özil

well shouldn't he have the cut-back pass card? Also think Özil is remarkably clean & effortless in his passing execution. He's also great at getting off a clean pass in any kind of situation, doesn't care about body position or momentum, just adjusts to circumstances. This is how the passing sta...

agree with the idea that he's too explosive/good of a dribbler with these stats, he just retains the ball well. lower form as well imo

Re: Neymar

his TW is better this season I think, before he was putting his foot on the ball too much instead of playing a simple pass and moving into space. he's had much better link-up play recently.

is form 4 a bit harsh too? neymar seems pretty consistent at what he does to me..
