Re: Portugal All Stars

I absolutely oppose adding a player to an All Star team, based on the simple fact that he was part of a winning team.

The truth is, Raphäel Guerreiro's performance in EURO2016 were meh. And as for now, I even rate Coentrão as a (much) better All-Time performer for Portugal than Guerreiro.

Re: João Cancelo

Well, he really needs to work that left foot, then.
Some of his failed passes could be (potentially) decisive. A player so hyped can't really use the "wrong side" argument as an excuse to fail in such important moments the way he did.

Re: João Cancelo

His passing was erratic against Napoli, though. Misplaced quite a few and didn't apply the right power to others. Maybe due to excessive eagerness.

Re: Fábio Coentrão

TS and STA are definitely overrated. Based on his current performances, I'd rate him: • TS = 82 - 83 • STA = 84 - 86 I'd also decrease AGI to 83 . On the other hand his ATT and MENT could see an increase. He has declined physically, but his sagacity is as good if not better than his prime. Plus, he ...

Re: Kevin Lasagna

I like his name. I suggest raising any of his stats to godly level.

And for some reason, I was just picturing a mouth-watering partnership between him, Massimo Maccarone and Lasse Schone.

Re: Danilo Pereira

Anyone else feels his ATTACK is kinda overlooked? Quite a few times I've seen him lurking outside the box or making incisive runs through the box. He's more defensive minded, of course, but when he decides to join the attack he's relatively successful at creating danger. And the game against Benfica...

Re: Lionel Messi

And SA was all time wise, I'm not so sure I'd put Ronaldo above Messi, having them on same level in my books Messi's SA has been superior to Ronaldo's for years now, tbf. In fact (if I can recall correctly), the comparison between Messi's shot placement and Ronaldo's have been thoroughly analysed a...

From what I've seen from him in Benfica his SA seems to have improved a bit. Nothing much, though.
He has been showing something around 81.

Re: Gonçalo Guedes

Don't know. I often see Guedes getting pushed off the ball far too easily for my liking. I really wouldn't rate him higher than 76.

I also stand for what I said about his DA. I'm yet to see him displaying pure DA with enough regularity to justify low yellows.

Re: Lionel Messi

Well, I think really it's more to do with guys like Bergkamp and Ronaldinho showing displays of absolute jawdrop astonishing pieces of ball control more regularly than Messi to be honest. Messi's ball control is consistently exceptional without doubt, but the guys you mentioned did have superior ba...

Re: Lionel Messi

The thing about Messi is that he always does it simple. Some players were indeed "visually" more impressive with their skill moves: • Maradona, Garrincha and Pelé (spins, drag-back, feints and quick flicks); • Ronaldo Fenómeno (ball roll, elasticos, heel flicks, roulettes and spins); • Ron...

Re: Gonçalo Guedes

Good set. Definitely agree with JMVP's remarks on his WFF. I still find it a bit hard to have a definite say on his speed stats, but current values seem near to what I'd give to him. For now, I'd only question his DA and BALANCE. His style of dribbling is mostly based on fast dribbling: sudden movem...

Re: Bernardo Silva

I love Bernardo, but I have split feelings about his performances. Technique-wise (DA and BC), he can easily become as good as David Silva. Not that he's too far away, tbf. But what bothers me most about him is that (more often than not), even though he can easily slide past opposition due to his te...

Re: André Horta

I meant: "want to let him go". Sorry for that.

It seems it has to do with that weasel Jorge Mendes. I read somewhere that Horta refused him, so Mendes is now (supposedly) trying to sabotage the player's career.

Re: André Horta

I don't quite understand why Benfica let him go.
Before his last injury, he was playing really well. Besides his technique, what impressed me most was his vision and work-rate. Not only is he a good ball provider for the attack, he's also quite adept at tracking back and help the defence.

Lol. Neymar's dribbling ability is phenomenal, but jurgens is so right. His ego is even bigger. Messi trying to dribble past 4-5 players and then trying to create something... bu...

His acceleration is crazy and should be his best ability IMO . He's a frea...
