Re: Filipe Luis

If he played in a European league and was always dangerous, why did he, in a much lower level league, lose so much (that's the point, the intensity of the value reduction) in attack?

because hes 34, and declined alot physically, which affects greatly his performance.

Re: Robert Lewandowski

I think it's too high as it's bordering or on the same level as completely unplayable players, Suarez, Romario, young Ronaldo, Messi, hes a few tiers down from that level imo.

Re: Matthijs de Ligt

Using defensive stats to justify a CB's defensive capability is very wrong imo. It's really not hard for a defender to run around everywhere, and do a fuck load of mostly, mundane defensive work, clearances, interceptions, etc. I can easily point a finger at Ranochia, who used to have some crazy sta...

Re: Romelu Lukaku

He played well against Juve, even if misused. Was a solid performance, and while his body can be an obstacle for the way he tries to play, his touch was hardly an issue. What game were you watching? He misplaced 40% of his passes, and had 1 shot. Thats horrendous by any measure, then throw ontop ho...

Re: Stefan de Vrij

I disagree with this completely as a reason why he should stay in the 70s since there are myriad of top CBs with poor acceleration. Acceleration is one thing, and it's almost standard in bigger players, but when the TS is good, it's compensated for, because you are still moving fast, even if you ta...

Re: Romelu Lukaku

Watching him trying to fanagle his way into maintaining possession in the simplest of situations is honestly absurd. Hes like a giant trying to to use utencils made for regaurl sized people. Every single pass that goes to him, is tempting faith, its risky every single time. If you've got the ball on...

Re: Matthijs de Ligt

He wasn't even good in the ucl defensively, I kept pointing out his mistakes, but hype was too big and people insisted on higher numbers, that was wrong. Talented, extremly physically well rounded, and technically sound, great at playing football, not a great mind defensively. Too young, too inexper...

Re: Marcelo Brozović

Hes not good defensively, he just does a fucking tonne, and I mean a tonne of defensive work, he doesn't have great defensive know-how or awareness, he just runs around and does his thing, no defensive mastermind, but a massive boon nonetheless.

Re: Luis Suárez

attack is not brilliance, it's the level of danger a player can create throughout a game. His response is still great, look at his movement in the game vs inter that drew calls for a penalty, it was wrongly dismissed, but thats a good example of his response, his timing and movement is still great, ...

which I would just like to understand the tackling strength vs typical strength with since that is a thing I have run into when trying to rate some players. They're forceful and when they go in they win, but in all other instances of strength if someone comes at you with all their force and speed, ...

Re: Stefan de Vrij

Dutch NT it is De Ligt who keeps De Vrij from the starting 11 Well, thats only natural... he is the prodigy, the hype for him is unreal. Theres no way de Vrij gets in the starting 11, no one cares about the old talent, who slowly matured in serie a, no one cares about serie a. It's political, no re...

Re: Stefan de Vrij

There are no arguments supporting this, it is posted from another site, and seems you view 89 defense at CB as not elite? If we take out Kompany since he is a player/coach we have 10 CBs rated higher than him at the position in the whole world. If I were to entertain this please tell me how him hav...

Re: Luis Suárez

No one disagrees about Suarez's attacking intelligence, it's basically at a completely different level. He plays like no one else, he'll always be capable of creating something out of nothing. But the fact is, hes way past his prime. He can no longer be relied upon like he used to. Hes nulled out co...

Re: Sergio Reguilón

Great update. Hes exactly what you'd want from a SB. He doesn't have anything flashy, hes pretty limited, but he pushes so hard with that limitedness and enthusiasm, and attacks and attacks. Hes definitely not a great dribbler by any means, but he uses it great effective nonetheless, very good at ca...

Re: Rafael Leão

Technically, he has alot of issues. He flails about on ball, gets muddled up in his own dribbling, isn't that far off tripping up sometimes. But at the same time, he demonstrates some very nice trickery, and even some nice ball manipulation, he has an interesting style of moving his body with the ba...
