Re: Virgil van Dijk

If he can put together another 3 or 4 seasons at his current level and win more major trophies he's in the conversation for the GOAT centre back. I've never seen a defender like him before because he has literally no weaknesses. The reason Messi is the goat attacking player is because he is 3 player...

Re: Mohamed Salah | 2012-13 | 2015-16 | 2017-18 | 2018-19

I don't think his balance and pace should be different between last season and this seasons sets. I think the current set is probably more reflective of both.

Re: Alisson

Hard to say. I think Oblak and Ter Stegen are clear top 2 so that answers your second question. On current form Allison and Ederson are up there. De Gea, Neuer and Coirtous historically very good but a bit past their best perhaps.

Re: Alisson

I'm not sure if I agree with vinnies analysis although I have only watched him closely since moving to Liverpool. I don't quite see him as this reflex God that the classic set has him at. Although his Roma highlights suggest that he is deserving of reds here. I also don't think he's anywhere near as...

Re: Alisson

In terms of handling errors the only one I can think of this season is for Lingard's goal where he dropped a cross. The other "mistakes" were actually fouls by the opposition or him trying to do Cruyff turns in the box.

I take back everything I said about this kids crossing. It's like having Beckham at full back.

Re: Xherdan Shaqiri

I think this set currently makes him too much of a tricky winger when he is really more of a wide playmaker. I'd lower his top speed and acceleration by a couple of points and his dribbling accuracy but raise his long passing accuracy. His chip balls over the top and his crossing are both seriously ...

Re: Jordan Henderson

Almost feels like Klopp wasted 3 years of his prime playing in that deeper role. SInce he moved back to CM hes been a revelation and reminding everyone of how good he was in 13/14 in that position. That said this set could do with a number of tweaks which I'll set out below: Att/Def ratio: I think h...

Re: Georginio Wijnaldum

I think the current value is OK. He's very good at protecting the ball and he has quite good feet but I'd say its more a combination of speed, agility and strength which makes him that way. He's a tricky player to rate though as he has days where he seems very average and days where he looks like th...

Agreed, also think his top speed and acceleration are much closer than this set implies. Somewhere around 85 for each if I had to guess.

Re: World All Stars ★

De Gea should be nowhere near this on current form. MATS and Oblak are clearly the top 2.

Re: Premier League All Stars ★

You have Hazard in the first team and the reserves. Also seems quite harsh not to have Salah in the first team squad and Firmino not even in the reserves.

Would be interested in getting some opinions on his set. Don't think he's anywhere near yellow TS. But he possibly deserves higher Defence and Response stats.

Re: Virgil van Dijk

One thing that is being overlooked in this debate comparing VVD with some of the best centre backs in the past is that we have to consider the system they played/are playing in. Virgil is playing in a very attacking team with a high line and the full backs bombing forward which can leave the centre ...

Re: Lionel Messi

I think you have to be careful not to place too much emphasis on stats. The conversion rate only tells you one part of the story. It doesn't tell you how far out the kick was, whether it missed by miles, was saved by the keeper or hit the wall etc. Statistics are helpful, but we must always sanity c...

Re: Joel Matip

Interesting that the old comments say he was a beast in the air at Schalke. He arguably deserves white header accuracy on the basis of this season. Misses so many good chances in the air. I also feel like his defensive headers are a bit dodgy.

Yeah you've calculated it wrong. 40/150 (26.7%) seems more reasonable. I am still surprised Robertson is that low though. Especially considering he has 8 assists.

Also not sure what is going on with the Freekicks metric there.

Do you have a source on those crossing stats Jurgens? I have major doubts about their accuracy. Just doesn't tally with my perception having watched basically every Liverpool game this season.
