i have to say under Klopp Lucas found his role again and he performs at his best atm... imo he will get soon re-call to Brazil NT..if he continues like so far under Klopp.

here is an in deep analysis of his play against Southampton:

Excellent article PIPA, really demonstrates his tactical understanding and ability. With Lucas Liverpool are clearly better, here is another article with a few stats that show that Lucas this season has the highest tackle rate of any premier league player both this season (despite playing two less than the comparisons) and in the history of the premier league http://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2015/11/l ... -like-him/

Lucas as with most DMs is under rated, yes his creativity is low but that isn't his role Liverpool have more than enough players to do that. And since he has come back in they have conceded far less, and look more solid at the back. I can't believe I'm going to ask this but it actually seems sensible to say I think we should increase his def by at least another 2 points, maybe more (5?). As PIPAs post demonstrates this is mostly down to positioning. All the statistics and history support the fact that his defensive ability as a DM is better than virtually any other current DM in the premier league and perhaps in Europe too.

Just a side note, please consider the fact that he is DM and we are considering Lucas's defensive ability as a DM not a CB. You might, arguably, say the defensive role of a Midfielder is nothing like that of a CB but we only have these PES stats for Defence.

Over the years since his values we're assigned, players got values closer to his def and his resp combos... and I'd just think, nah, shouldn't be anywhere close to him. Hes a benchmark player for DMF's and players being put so close to him just aint right. But being plagued so much by injuries and not being in the lime light, he starts to look like an anomaly in the ladders... insane/def/tw/sta/resp, you just know eyebrows are being raised and people are asking is he really that good? I had full confiednce that when he got back to full fitness he'd show exactly why he has this set, and that others shouldn't be so close to him... and hes done just that.

I feel what you are saying is already well represented in this set though? I mean, the values he was given were at the time... and still are a monstrous combo. Hes has the highest combination of def/tw/resp/sta among all dmf's on the database, and by some distance. I'm not exactly opposed to higher def, but is what you are saying not already highlighted in his set?

Actually he was saying his DEF could go up... and I seriously agree, his tackling is magnificent, he's a monster, but not like Medel who just run all through the field and kicks everything he sees, Lucas is much better than that. 82 DEF really wouldn't bother me. I don't see him at all under Matic, for example.

What a cracking player, sadly he left the BPL for Serie A this late, suits him perfectly. His decisions are top, he's got a perfect vision of everything going on, great passer really, his long balls are prolly quite better than 77, and TW seems very, very underrated. He's no worse than Biglia, who's on 90.

Think he needs update but would looooove if someone could make a 10-12 version.

Would be best in the world by a good deal.

It could be either 2009-2011 or 2009-2013 since he lost most of 2011/2012 season due to injury (ligament).

I think he's better than this, and his Tech always higher.

Well until the injury he was...unbelievable. One of the Spanish-speaking commentators were in love, while I thought of proposing. He started that season unbelievably well (so really end of 2011).

09-10 he wasn't at the same level.
