beyond awful vs villa, was playing so deep he should have asked cech for his gloves, and showed about as much desire to get into the box as him

Isnt his ball control decreased a little??? In last times , he is a bit sloppy. I would go to 83. Any suggestions?

Actually I'm somewhat glad he missed that one, you know, if he had buried it instead... imagine the press going all "Torres manages to rescue some dignity for Spain", "Torres the saviour scores where Costa failed", "only Torres was up to the challenge in the second half", that kind of stuff.

This guy's first touch just keeps getting worse each game.

The reason for his downfall is because of his first touch. he cant control the ball for some reason. he still is fast, but fuk me has he lost it. can't finish, can't pass, atrocious stuff.

Speaking of crap, this post. Fernando Torres was absolutely world class at Liverpool up until the end of the 2010 season, to suggest otherwise is either pure ignorance or just opinion swaying fact.

That said, what made him immense was that he was incredibly quick, a very good finisher and always hungry for goals. He has none of these attributes nowadays sadly, and he will never even come close to what he was, he's been in steady decline for the best part of 5 years now both mentally and physically. Also, I'm not sure I've ever seen 85 tech from him even at his peak, this set is generous in some areas for sure.

Ultimately, he should be absolutely nowhere near the Spanish national team to be sure, his inclusion is somewhat of a joke, but to say that he is living off the back of one goal is absurd. He was absolutely class from 2003 at Atletico onwards and its actually a crying shame what has happened to his career.
