Upgrade

Postby Nrby » 2010 Dec 18, 15:59

PSD is planing an upgrade that will implicate some serious programing and overall changes ... users themselves won't notice much difference except for the ladder system that will be fully automated if everything works according to plan ... it's just the start of a bigger project ... I don't want to promises anything but I hope the first stage will be complete in a form or another early next year ...

this might not work at all so don't get to enthusiastic about it ... but we need to try to evolve a bit from the classic forum we have

Now what dose this mean for the site at the moment ... well it's frozen ... no updates on players ... no approved stats ... at least for the time being ... transfers can be dome as it is the transfer period that we will be in soon ... but other than that PSD is on standby ... I didn't want to stop the site completely as except for the updates everything else still works

Given that the recent update has now been implemented, I wonder whether there is any method we could apply to 'National Team Selection' in order to maintain the records accurately.

At the moment it's just sort of left to users to provide updates for individual sides - this allows for updates to be missed or for too many updates (friendlies, key players missing odd games through injury/suspension, etc)...

What if we could think up a particular method to maintain the squads most accurately...almost like a form guides that looks at the last 5 games or something.

Obviously, there's the issue of friendlies vs competitive matches to contend with but that's just another point for discussion...(hopefully!).

I see this has come up very well, congrats' Nrby :)

now this only needs "Teams" support (and not only "Players") with formations, and the chance to export the online DB to an OptionFile :)

I have found that Paul Scharner (WBA) has *dribbling on the new web and don't have it on the forum, and same happens with Hangeland (Fulham) that has *passing on the new web and not onthe forum. Which are correct? i don't know who works the new web. It's upgrade automatically with the forum ? If I find diferences , wich stats may i take to my OF?Thanks

Neither do I, the answer to your problem is that the new editor that us mods use to edit the new site is still a little glitchy, so errors like you pointed out occur sometimes

Actually, the editor does not have any problem.
The differences between forums and site, are caused to the difficulty of imports from the forum, when you find these errors send me pm with the list of players to be corrected.

That's because on the main page all players are shown like If they were updated. The thing Is that we're slowly putting that update in the players that are saved in the forum part.

I think that all mods has to be more active and try to change to the new format all the players of ALL leagues, don't you think so? Because are really desert sections and it's a pity :?
