I cant see his acc/ep on green, damn hes so damn slow ln the first steps but pretty useful to play from back to the goal, rslly good passes. Hope he can play more games, i really like this dude

Indeed. Seems like tactical dribble and passing are needed, specially td; good holding till a pass option appears.

He scored a goal today with his shoulder against Gimnasia.

His effort to recover the ball is amazing to be a cf, is backing, backing and doing tackles, also is really excessive to push the cbs, seems that is whole match wasting his energy doing that, but has enough to do it.

Yesterday his acceleration seemed whites imo...there was one situation when he tried to get a long ball or a rebound before it went out and he showed a really low pace, obviously he didn't get it; it was in 1st half.

He is by far the most underrated forward of the league (not talking about his stats in psd), generally there's a lot of hype in the media for carrillo, who i think it's doing great ATM, and that hype on his partner makes him look less of a player so people don't seem to realize how hardworker, dangerous and key vera has been in estudiantes. He had his ups and downs last tournament but he was decisive in key matches, he scored against gimnasia twice, to river 3 matches in a row, two vs boca and a couple more but he was always the sidekick by the media, and it's been like this since his Atl. Rafaela days with albertengo.

I agree he's great and key for the team but are you sure he's not well rated by people? I rate him pretty high, probably he still must score more but I don't think he's that kind of striker. I would love to see him with Albertengo in Independiente, but sadly that ain't happen. And forget about media, hype players like Silva or any Boca/River player is more important than rate very high players like him or I don't know, Bertolo, or other some small team players. Media is only care about how takes a shit Osvaldo and Teo and that's disgusting.

This one's long due for an update, he is awesome, but also a real workhorse aswell. This is what i have for him since awhile.

ADD TACTICAL DRIBBLE
REMONVE SCORING
ADD DUMMY RUNNER
DEF AWARNESS 2

So,what can be said that haven't been said thus far, his passing is great for a CF it doesn't matter to him going short, long or chiped passes, he is very good for a CF on it and that it's why he is so good to play with another striker close to him.
It's weird to explain his style with the ball, he looks clumsy, but how he protect the ball with his body and weird control, you look how he move his upper body it just seems to have no control whatsoever, but the ball doesn't get off his way, and his trapping it's great, better and more consistant that carrillo.
How he normally dribbles, well, he collides ==> feints slowly with his upper body ==> turn around one way ==> retains till a pass showoff. All that without losing as much control, but without having in full tight, thats when he use his balance, which is main key on his dribble style.
Dummy runner and def awarness are very needed aswell, it has been a remark on this thread how sacrificed he is and how much he gets out of his zone to get the ball so someone else can break the space left, this is one of the aspects that him and albertengo work really well, one goes out the other gets in, all night long messing with the opponents and been hard as hell to see them lose the ball.
Fuck independiente, they have the BEST COUPLE of pure strikers in the league right now, i don't really remember two guys working so well togheter in quite a long time in AFA, and a guy that can manage them decently, which you didn't have 2 months ago, if he manage to screw this two up it's all his fault.

Totally, is a good passer really, maybe deserves 1/2 points more in spa/lpa and his lps is not so bad like 70.

lucashag wrote:Is it me or he looks like he lost some pace lately, specially some Exp power?

I have the same impression with his agi, does slow and hard turns, but uses his body perfectly and doesn't lose the ball.

Here his great match vs. Colón:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=416

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=84 something without too much importance for some, but has a great defensive jump

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=59 bb

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=77 great touch

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=90 break + good pass

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=119 this is typical of him, uses his body & hands to cover the ball and generates spaces

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=127 recovering the ball

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=150 bb, great taco, hell of kp + a good diagonal

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=194 track back and pure balance, amazing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=233 tech + good turn/pass

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=252 perfect control

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=317 resp

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=336 caño

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=411 using his hands

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=420 bb

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=501 balance + great first touch

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=526 bb + amazing movement, almost imposible escape from here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=539 bb, when cover the ball with his back is really amazing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_puMRpauc&t=618 ts

-----

He's really a very useful and smart player, very intelligent, amazing covering the ball with his body (and using his hands), does interesting things with the ball, great first touch, good jump/header (better jump) and also runs a lot, he push a lot the rivals and is running all the time, both to push the cbs or helps to recovery the ball (great stamina too); is a machine of generate spaces to his mates.

I'm really impressed with his bb, using his body and hands is imposible to move and always receives fouls, this + his good first touch is great.

What do you think of these changes:?

Defence 45 (+5)
Dribble Accuracy: 79 (+1)
Short Pass Accuracy: 78 (+1)
Long Pass Accuracy: 77/8 (+1/2)
Long Pass Speed: 73 (+3)
Ball Control: 79 (+1)
Body Balance: 83/4 (+2/3)
Stamina: 84 (+1)
Jump: 82 (+3)

Defence Awareness 2 (+1)

And are you sure about form 5 and not 6? and maybe better tw?

+ add dummy runner and track back.

Rafaela has 2 amazing strikers really.

Also, I think he needs 1 touch play/pass, yesterday match was the best example of it, he did a lot of great passes with first touches to the sides.

I basically agree in everything, that's a great post Lucas, thanks for that. But if you don't mind, I'd like to watch him some games more before update him. He's been underperforming the last 3 games, he wasn't dangerous at all but when he played his first games he was awesome and exactly the way you described him.
