Chelsea FC discussion thread

Postby PES Stats Database » 2012 Jan 16, 00:19

Us mods, well me an evans have been "wasting" thread space talking about chelsea in general and as were meant to be against such matters from normal members, I felt a thread would be a good idea, and as the manc scum have a thread as well...

Yea, kinda figured when I went in his thread. The way you worded it made it sound a lot more sinister than it really is. I thought it was a perma deal.

comfimed that JT will stay as captain, the media are acting like its major news, like they would really exoect mourinho to take it from JT? complete madness...any truye chelsea man (which mourinho seems to be) knows the armbad is JT (and lamps when he's not playing) till they retire in which case Luiz should inherit it

dull performance. they were washed over by the united possession and looked quite the inferior side until united slowed down and lost focus around the 50th minute. the de bruyne schurlle didn't work out to anything at all. no attacking sense going forward, no balance, no transition through the middle, and inferior shape. they lacked proper structure in many regards. I feel like just sticking lukaku up front with mata on the right is the best classic strategy. it works. Chelsea dominated united last year with the same team. this team looked exceptionally lackluster.
If you don't put effort into your post, i won't put effort in my response.

lets not forget that this is a young team, few new players with a new manager, of course its going to be slow start and also lets not forget last season was quite grueling for the team, so a lot of players had shorter preseasons with the teams so not as match sharp and tactically attuned as others.

hate the bastard and think he's so overated as a player, yes he works fuckin 100 times harder than anyone and yes he's taletend but he's so inconsistent, eto for nothing or rooney for 40+ mil, so obvious the answer

I see very differently then. Chelsea will still have to pay 40M or above to somebody soon, whether it be January or next summer. That is what any self-respecting chairman/president is going to charge for even an above average/good striker to Abramovic.

I think your irrational dislike of a player who has scored 141 goals in 278 games for United is clouding your judgement. I absolutely, with all my heart, despised Filippo Inzaghi as a player but I would have bitten someone's hand off if he was offered to me in his prime.

I would say a Rooney-led Chelsea could have been a frightening prospect. You make him sound like Iain Dowie.

why do we need to sign a striker in the future, lukaku's already a class striker and will be even better in a few years

also yes his record is remarkable but he scores in chunks, 9 goals in like 11 games then it be a 8 before his next scoring chunk, you need a striker who can get goals consistently, I know even RVP had a large goal doubt but it was just the one, not several over a season.

The 1-0 defeat at Basel was probably one of the worst games I've ever seen of Chel$ki.
The Swiss champions should have scored 2 more at least.

serious point, maybe a bit reactionary but perhaps we should look at the ratings of our forward line in stats like attack, sa etc

I can hear a few American & Australian accents in there (I believe). I love how they manage to actually fit traits to a few of the players.
