If a player is among the best in the world, he is among the best in the world... regardless if the ignorant masses recognize his ability or not. If we were going by who has the bigger name or who is recognized as a "star" player... David Villa would be in here rather than Diego Costa, Joe Hart instead of Handanovic, and does that make any sense? I don't see why we should even consider who plays for NT or not. How many legends barely made an impact on the NT because of NT coaches? Hoddle/juninho etc etc. How many players were relegated to bench roles simply because the best in the world was in their position for the NT despite the fact that they would get into pretty much any club team in the world? Do these play any factor in how we perceive a player? I should certainly hope not.

Absolutely agree.

On current form Mitroglou and Fredy Montero should be in the team. They have better strike rates than Diego Costa.

Costa's one of the biggest attacking (and scoring) threats on the fields right now, who else would you put in then?
Well considering there are 6 or 7 attackers to be chosen I would argue that Messi, Ronaldo, Zlatan, Ribery, van Persie and Falcao are the 'world stars' of this moment (steady top 10 players in any World Player of the Year squads for the last 2 or 3 years). For the 7th spot Suarez, Totti, Costa, Neymar, Robben, Aguero and Bale could 'fight', but I wouldnt say that Costa is the 'best candidate' among that bench. There are others who have proven themselves over a longer period, in plenty of tournaments, in multiple teams, etc.

If we make team like this with current form and with an update every season with the performance of only the 2013/2014 season, so yeah Roy made a pretty good squad. Falcao shouldn't stay on the list for only this season, he's so far of his form, a lot of injuries, and a lot of media-questions about him, like if he will move in another club this winter. Cavani for example is far over Falcao for this season. The Strikers list of Roy looks perfect, I just consider Cavani (or the others on the reserve squad like neymar, rooney, etc but I don't know them) instead of Totti. Totti isn't really a striker, so maybe more in the mieldfielder list if really he deserve the choise to be in.

Totti deserves to be in, probably world's best SS/LWF hybrid...

Well, C. Ronaldo and Ribery also tend to play on that position so I would disagree with that.
I think its interesting that there arent any right wingers of RWF/SS in the world star team at this point.

At most teams nowadays seems to play 4231 or 4123 it probably makes more sense to pick 4 x 2 defenders (RB x 2, RCB x 2, etc.), 3 of 4x DM/defensive minded/allround CMs, 2 or 3x AM/offensive minded CMs, 2 SM/WF/SS from the right, and 2 from the left, and 2 central forwards.

Would make these changes:

Van Persie OUT Suarez IN
Mata OUT Ozil IN
Alonso OUT Busquets IN

I'd also be tempted to stick Bale in for Totti.

i'd put Pogba instead of Strootman. The french talent is simply outstanding, whoscored even rates him as the best Juve midfielder(over Strootman also), better than even Vidal and Pirlo. Either as Cm or Dm, hes grown a great deal. I wouldnt be amazed if he replaces Pirlo as regista when he retires, he is perfectly suited to hold the mid and distribute with long balls, which he has learned and improved(still in development though) execution techniques besides from Pirlo

Or just replace Alba with Baines, Alaba or Fillipe, Costa in for Neymar, and Miranda for Barzagli, that'd be the most urgent changes imo...

Suarez does not deserve to be in the reserves according to his performance this season , at this moment he is the best attacker in the world . I think ronaldo is best in this year , but suarez is better this season.

got the all stars up to date, and fixed the broken pictures. i may be missing a player or two, or unjustly including one or two, leave some thoughts. also, should we add the club names next to the player names like it's done in the premier league all stars thread?

http://pesstatsdatabase.com/viewtopic.php?f=430&t=12821

dunno, might be a nice touch, might be unnecessary?
If you don't put effort into your post, i won't put effort in my response.

Marchisio isn't playing that much at Juventus,Cazorla isn't playing that good this season, so i suggest to change Marchisio and Cazorla with Robben and Ozil who are better players and are playing great this season and have played great in 2013 .And i don't understand why the two side backs for the formation are Lichtsteiner on the right and Lahm on the left ,when Lahm is the best right back and Alaba the best LB for me,so i suggest that the two side backs in the formation should be Lahm and Alaba ,and two side backs in the reserves Lichtsteiner/Zabaleta and Baines .

Spoiler: show
Handa - Zabaleta - Thiago Silva - Kompany - Alaba - Vidal - Lahm - Touré - Messi - Suarez - C. Ronaldo

^^ This is the set-up I use... Alaba should be in this team, I chose to play him, but he needs to be in regardless...

Aguero should be in the reserves at the very minimum.

Samir Handanovič isn't slovak, but slovenian like me. I don't believe he fits in the World All Stars team atm. I'm a Serie A fan, but Marchisio and Totti don't fit aswell.
