my sugestions:
brehme instead of kohler
get voler in the eleven somehow

i always like to play schwarzenbeck behind beckenbauer in classic Bayern. I think it should be the same in the national team, since one of the main reasons beckenbauer had the chance to go up was the security schwarzenbeck provided in the back, but again, these are only suggestions

Possibly Manfred Kaltz?

Added the links

My personal changes would be:

Thomas HÄBLER >>> Helmut RAHN
Guido BUCHWALD >>>> Karl-Heinz SCHNELLINGER
Bobo ILLGNER >>>> Manfred KALTZ ( Most all star national teams have two goalkeepers)

Other players worth a mention and could be added to the reserves are:

Paul Janes
Karlhienz Forster
Rinor Bonhof
Stefan Effenberg
Jurgen Grabowski

Personally, I prefer a slightly different formation for Classic Germany. For me, I stuggled to win with the original formation and felt it lacked width and height in midfield and was slightly too attacking.

After quite a bit of experimenting, I arrived at the formation below, which I think seems to work well:

-----------------------------KAHN----------------------------
--------------------BECKENBAUER-----------------------------
--------VOGTS-------------------KOHLER----------BREHME----
------------------------------SAMMER------------------------
-------------------MATTHAUS---------------------------------
-LITTBARSKI------------OVERATH-----------------------------
-------------------------------------RUMMENIGGE------------
-----------------------GERD MOELLER-------------------------

- Vogts is at right-back, but tucked inside and on High Defense, so he plays almost like a 3rd centre back.
- On the left, Brehme is left back, but pushed as far forward as he can be, on normal defense and running forwards, so that he provides width on the left flank.
- Sammer plays as the holding midfielder, slightly on the left of centre to cover Brehme. I felt that all of Classic Germany's midfielders lack aerial ability and moving Sammer into midfield compensates for that.
- Littbarski starts as a RMF, to provide additional defensive cover, though is put in an attacking position, can be switched to a winger if need to be more attacking.
- Rummenigge plays as a second striker, slightly to the left of centre and cutting inside.

Germany in the 70s was a very attacking team that played 4-2-4 or 4-3-3 (not 3-5-2 as we normally think what Germany would play, they only played 3-5-2 in the 80s and 90s), so I have no problem with an attacking formation.

Here is what I have:

-------------------Maier(GK)--------------------

Vogts(RB)-----------Kohler(CB)---------Schnellinger(LB)

-----------------Beckenbauer(DMF)--------------------

--------Matthaus(CMF)---------Overath(CMF)-----------

Littbarski(RMF)--------------------------Breitner(LMF)

----------------------Rummenigge(SS)------------

-----------------Muller(CF)-----------------------

Vogts and Schnellinger play more central than normal fullback, or you can simply change them to CB if you want. I just think as LB I can substitute Brehme and Breitner easier.
I know Beckenbauer is default to be CWP, but in PES CWP is primary as a defensive sweeper. Even with tactic set to "CB overlap", he is still not attacking enough like he did in real life IMO. The way he plays as DMF in PES is much better!

Ich liebe das song. :D

A great theme for the German All Star team. Amazing tune.

And you gave them a 3-5-2  ;) Yeah I know you explained about Beckenbauer but I just found that pretty damn funny listing a 3-5-2 formation after that kind of statement.

About first post CDDRodrigo do you have Kohler as a CB and Vogts as a FB or a CB?

Haha, that was from a while ago.

I only have PES on psp, and I made a recent discovery that I can change formation with a simple push on the "select" button (without stopping the game). It was a very good feature and finally I can demonstrate what a libero should look like.

Here's what I usually have:

-------------------Maier(GK)--------------------

Vogts(RB)------Beckenbauer(CWP)-----Kohler(CB)---------Breitner(LB)

--------Matthaus(CMF)---------Overath(CMF)-----------

Littbarski(RWF)--------------------------Grabowski(LWF)

-------------Muller(CF)-----Rummenigge(SS)------------------

If I have the ball and want Kaiser to be more involved in offense, I will even push him up to CMF, so he can try to get into the box more than DMF. (Since Grabowski and Littbarski can play on both sides, I could swap them too! It was a really fluid formation.)

---------------------------Maier(GK)--------------------

---------------Vogts(CB)------Kohler(CB)---------Breitner(CB)----------

--------Matthaus(CMF)---Beckenbauer(CMF)------Overath(CMF)-----------

Grabowski(RWF)------------------------------------Littbarski(LWF)

-------------Muller(CF)-----Rummenigge(SS)------------------

This recent discovery works like a charm and I have no problem trying to make Di Stefano, Cruyff, John Charles play like themselves anymore. :D

I have a few things: First Illgner may be deleted. Though he was the goalkeeper at the World Cup 90, but no one has ever really noticed. Then you can add more than Kopke Goalkeeper, because he has certainly done the greater merit, or even Toni Turek, because the 54-Eleven in Germany has a special significance.

When the defenders I miss Uli Stielike. He was one of the best Sweeper, or defensive midfielder we've ever had.

Ernst Kuzorra certainly was not bad but since we are rather an Edmund Coenen, or a Fritz Szepan take the team that was in the 30's the best thing we had in the attack.

Helmut Rahn was more of a striker than a midfielder, Hoeness for more of a midfielder.

Who I am missing is Max Morlock. Also a '54 from the team.

Horst Hrubesch belongs definitely to the first team.

Oh, and Ulf Kirsten has nothing at all to a German team to start looking.

Also, one could grab Ernst Lehner the team because he was one of the best wingers in the 30s

One Player who maybe should be in the reserves at least is Horst Szymaniak, he was one of the best midfielders for germany in the 60's, with Kicker (sports magazine) rating him world class five times between 1957 and 1961. i'll make him if anyone thinks hes good enough for the teaml, or reserves.

Yeah!!! Do it!!
He's the best DMF ever in German soccer!!!!
I made an investigation about it, and he's really the best, ahead Stielike, for most of people and experts.
I try to get some informations to make it, but i found nothing about skills.
So, if you can make him, do it!!

After several investigations, here's my classic Germany (only retired players, 23 players).

GK Maier
SW Beckenbauer
CB Kohler
RB Vogts (more defensive, almost blocked)
LB Breitner
DM Matthaus
CM Overath (playmaker)
AM Walter
RW Rahn
SS Seeler (or Rummenigge) on the left side, cutting inside
CF Muller

Subs:
GK Kahn
CB Forster
SB/CB/SW Schnellinger
SW/DM Sammer
RB Kaltz
LB Brehme
DM/SW Stielike
AM/CM Netzer
AM Schuster
RW Littbarski
SS Rummenigge
CF Klinsmann

Maybe i'll replace Stielike with Szymaniak...

The tactic emulate (approximately) the 70's West Germany, for me the best Germany ever. I place Matthaus on DMF position because it's impossible leave on the bench Overath or Walter IMHO... the only problem may be a lack of height and defense attitude in the middle (Matthaus is 81 ATT and 74 DEF), as Kempie said... but Sammer in an all time formation can be only a reserve, nothing more.

I like playing with this formation:

-------------------MAIER-------------------
----------------BECKENBAUER---------------
-------KALTZ----------------SCHNELLINGER-
----------BREHME-------MATTHAUS---------
-LITTBARSKI-------------------KLINNSMANN
--------------------------------------------
----------------RUMMENIGGE---------------
--------------------------SEELER----------
--------MULLER (or sometimes BIERHOFF)----

GK: MAIER
SWP: BECKEMBAUER
CT: KALTZ
LB: SCHNELLINGER

MC: BREHME
MC: MATTHAUS

RMF or DLD: LITTBARSKI
LMF: KLINNSMANN (because he is very fast)

AMF: RUMENIGGE
DC or SS: SEELER
DC: MULLER (or sometimes BIERHOFF)

They have a great header

They can throw centres to Bierhoff, Seeler or Muller

They can kick from outside the area with great precision

They defend with Brehme, Matthaus, Littbarski and Klinnsmann

I think there are a few East German players that could arguably be in the squad, many of their great players have gone unnoticed because of the dominance of the west. Players such as Jürgen Croy (I personally think Croy was a better goalkeeper than Schumacher and possibly even Kahn too, he was a phenomenal goalkeeper and many people rate him up their with the likes of Maier and Schmeichael), Konrad Weise, Hans-Jürgen Dörner (possibly both Wiese and Dörner could be ahead of Buchwald, especially Dörner), Joachim Streich, Ulf Kirsten.

Also, I was thinking of creating a few of these players, would my stats be turned down or would it be okay ?

Oh has Croy been made, cool, then he really should be in the squad then imo.
Schumacher out, Croy in (I'd even consider putting him ahead of Kahn, but that might just be me ;)) what do people think ?
