Back in the day when he was banging in the goals for Asteras Tripolis, I would compare him to Pieros Sotiriou then playing for APOEL. Both young Strikers of similar size who worked hard for their respective teams and ended-up scoring a lot of goals as a result.
Now for AEK Larnaca he seems a different player since signing for them in January 2018. For his first 6 months at AEK Larnaca with Florian injuried, Giannou had been more of a CF, mainly playing alone up-front in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 or 3-4-3, without great results like scoring many goals, but this Season he is being utilised in a very different role and he is doing better. Especially now with their current coach Idiakez who left in the Summer for Real Zaragoza just to return few months later to replace Iraola, Giannou has been playing as a SS a lot this Season mainly in a 3-5-2 formation, in-behind CF Florian or even Trickovski who is not a CF by definition himself but plays as such. In addition to Secondary-Striker, he has also played sometimes as a Winger, mainly on the Left, for example in last weekend's 0-0 away derby draw Vs APOEL Nicosia in a 3-4-3, but overall not too many times played there.
Basically he is a bit of an all-around work-horse for the team with kind of "free-role" in-between the lines; runs a lot(more physical than this Set) helping defensively, and attackingly he really puts in the necessary effort in order for chances to be created; good hold-up and link-up play from him. Surprisingly fast for his size, and good also at getting on the end of crosses and set-pieces, and square it for a teammate or finish it himself. He is not much of a poacher or finisher right now in relation to his earlier days, but he has indeed developed some other aspects of his game from what I have explained above. I would suggest some changes from what I believe from watching him, but I do like to discuss them with somebody he maybe has also watched him in recent years:

Watched this miss from him live yesterday and remembered to revisit this post.
This guy is a different player to what he was some years ago, not much of an out-and-out Striker or finisher anymore, but more of an all-round forward who plays mainly as Secondary-Striker alongside a Center-Forward, or even on the Wings if needed. A team-player with good physicality, decent technique, and good defensively for an attacker, who usually is a good option with his movement and hold-up/link-up play for his team to move the ball in the attack and create danger, but not necessarily him being their biggest source of danger towards goal.
In this match Vs Olympiakos Nicosia he could have sealed the victory for AEK Larnaca having been already 1-2 up and playing with 10-men, but after that in the end Olympiakos came back to draw 2-2. In the beginning of the match he started playing up-front with Trickovski(the guy who plays him through on goal in the video), but when they were down to 10 men around the 50th minute, Giannou switched to Left-Winger in a 4-4-1 with only Trickovski upfront.

That's another clip of him in the video of this match. Again showed good physicality but also technique to control the ball between two opponents, but the finish again was not ideal.
Some Updates are needed to his Set like what I have suggested some months ago:
