Fixer is right about CBs. Cesc achieves more minutes than Pedro, Iniesta, Alexis... only Valdés, Messi, Busquets and Xavi have played more than him.

Something clear about the current season formation is this: 4-3-3 is the main formation , otherwise than past season where Guardiola swap between 3-4-3 and 4-3-3 a lot. Currently 3-4-3 it's just an option for some times.

It's mostly because of Alba being the new first-choice at the left-back. Abidal was preferred last season and he mainly stayed deep while Alves was almost a right winger. And when Abidal had to go for a surgery again, Puyol took over that "left-back" position when 3-4-3 was in use.

Considering the formation i'd say this is the starting elevenfor this season but what are the roles of alexis and pedro, ss or wf? So far this season ive seen them more active on the wings but.im not sure if that justifies to set them as wf.

Also when Tello plays, he plays as WF too. IMO the team is wider than Guardiola's F&T. But when Iniesta plays as LSS, he tends to the centre, to let Alba play near to the sideline.

Yeah, I think that was the 11 Tito used against Espanyol, wasn't it?

Is it possible to get an update on the formation Barca play now on a weekly basis, or just an idea of the shape if the personnel are not consistent?

The standard formations have some subtle changes between La Liga, UCL and Copa del Rey.

Whoscored lists them as a flat 4-4-2 for the past 10 matches or so (Valencia Copa del Rey and Chelsea both legs), only once playing a 4-3-3 vs Malaga away - just prior to the Chelsea match from last night. Might've been different earlier in the season, but I was just wondering if they have settled on a general system? As surely first post is off?

------------------Stegen------------------------
-----------------------------------------------
--Roberto*---Pique--Umtiti-----Alba---
------------------------------------------------
---???------Rakatic--Busquets--Iniesta*---
----------------------------------------------
---------------Messi--Suarez

This is what tends to be the personel, with Semedo* for Roberto or Coutinho* for Iniesta sometimes, and the "right midfield" has been Gomes, Dembele, Coutinho, Paulinho. I assume the backline is standard in terms of roles, but what is the midfield and attack like? Iniesta still seems to be a wide CMF on the left, Budquets the DMF, and Rakitic is a deeper CMF? Messi is AMF like last season or back to being an SS?

With Messi as RWF put like in the pic, he sometimes can take the right side to wait the ball or go into de box as CF. That is like I usually play, and seems very real. Maybe you can change Paulinho for Dembele and change his position to SMF.
