Portieri: Mirante (Parma), Sirigu (Palermo), Viviano (Bologna)

Difensori: Astori (Cagliari), Balzaretti (Palermo), Bonucci (Juventus), Cassani (Palermo), Criscito (Genoa), Gastaldello (Sampdoria), Ranocchia (Genoa), Santon (Inter).

Centrocampisti: Aquilani (Juventus), De Rossi (Roma), Diamanti (Brescia), Ledesma (Lazio), Marchisio (Juventus), Mauri (Lazio), Pirlo (Milan).

Attaccanti: Balotelli (Manchester City), Gilardino (Fiorentina), Pazzini (Sampdoria), Quagliarella (Juventus), Rossi (Villarreal).

I really like this team.. of course it is experimental but Prandelli is creating a solid group imo.. finally he called Ranocchia, Santon after the injuries, and Aquilani.. glad to see Diamanti :D

I agree, nice team, certainly a better coach than the late lippi, but why drop cassano :?
He was on good form against juve, ireland, and co before samp dropped him. He'll probably leave :(

How's diamanti, heard from (football fancast italian serie a ;) ) that he scored for brescia goal of the week :o

Cassano is out until he will clarify his situation with Sampdoria, it was a disciplinary decision.
Another important absence is Chiellini, he was probably rested to recover from his injury at the head (good choice by Prandelli, since it's only a friend and since he will try the couple Ranocchia-Bonucci that shined with Bari). Also Palombo and Montolivo are out.
I'm globally glad for these names, especially for Ranocchia and Balzaretti, and...because after 2 years there isn't Pepe.
Last thing, I think no changes are needed in first post; after all, this is only a friendly, so please don't say "put Ranocchia/Aquilani/Santon/Balotelli/Balzaretti instead of Bovo/Antonelli/Zambrotta" because (for 4 of them) it's their first call-up with Prandelli, I said it to avoid the fanboys hysteria.

hehe It was just a mistake from the original source :D

@Ace: Yes, of course no changes are needed right now; only if Astori, Aquilani, Santon, Ranocchia and Balo (probably) are called again for the next matches, we will have to consider them for the first 23

PORTIERI: Buffon (Juventus), Sirigu (Palermo), Viviano (Bologna);

DIFENSORI: Astori (Cagliari), Bonucci (Juventus), Cassani (Palermo), Criscito (Genoa), Chiellini (Juventus), Maggio (Napoli), Ranocchia (Inter).

CENTROCAMPISTI: Aquilani (Juventus), De Rossi (Roma), Giovinco (Parma), Mauri (Lazio), Montolivo (Fiorentina), *Motta (Inter), Nocerino (Palermo), Palombo (Sampdoria).

ATTACCANTI: Borriello (Roma), Cassano (Milan), Matri (Juventus), Pazzini (Inter), Rossi (Villarreal).

Buffon, Cassano and Maggio are back.. good to see Matri and Giovinco. Astori is one of Prandelli's favourites, he can replace Bovo or Gastaldello in the first post

I made some changes: I put Ranocchia, Astori, Balzaretti and Borriello instead of Bovo, Gastaldello, Zambrotta and Pepe. Maybe now we have too much left SB. Put also Rossi in formation (to be honest the formation is still work in progress, Prandelli is also trying a 4-3-1-2, we will see in future)

GK: Buffon, Sirigu, Viviano

DF: Astori, Balzaretti, Bonucci, Chiellini, Criscito, Gastaldello, Maggio, Ranocchia, Santon

MF: Aquilani, Marchisio, Mauri, Montolivo, Motta, Nocerino, Parolo

FW: Cassano, Gilardino, Giovinco, Matri, Pazzini and Rossi.

Matri is overcoming Borriello.. Finally Pepe is no longer in the circle of NT.. and Giovinco is the first substitute of Balotelli I reckon.

Yeah definitely he's out! :D About Matri-Borriello, I think it's a matter of form (and the club where they play), to be honest there are already two CF in first post so also Borriello is generous in the list.
If I can add more notes, De Rossi and Balotelli are out because of disciplinary reasons; Cassani, Pirlo, Palombo and Quagliarella are injured.

I made a change: Antonelli is out of team (he was an experiment), instead of him I put Maggio (so the SB problems are solved). Probably after the matches I will update the formation if they will play with 4-3-1-2 again.

Portieri: Buffon (Juventus), Sirigu (Palermo), Viviano (Bologna);

Difensori: Astori (Cagliari), Balzaretti (Palermo), Cassani (Palermo), Chiellini (Juventus), Criscito (Genoa), Gamberini (Fiorentina), Maggio (Napoli), Ranocchia (Inter);

Centrocampisti: Aquilani e Marchisio (Juventus), Montolivo (Fiorentina), Thiago Motta (Inter), Nocerino (Palermo), Palombo (Sampdoria), Pirlo (Milan);

Attaccanti: Balotelli (Manchester City), Cassano (Milan), Gilardino (Fiorentina), Giovinco (Parma), Matri (Juventus), Pazzini (Inter), Rossi (Villarreal).

Balotelli and Motta went back yesterday to their respective teams due to injuries..

in the first post, I'd make these changes:
Mauri out -> Thiago Motta in
Borriello out -> Matri in
Gamberini in the recent call-ups
I'd say that also Giovinco should be considered to replace Quagliarella..

De Sanctis In - Viviano Out (Viviano is injured but De Sanctis is very difficult to not call up because he is in very great form,I think when Viviano returns he will fight with Sirigu and Marchetti for the third place).
Nocerino in - Palombo Out (in the last call ups Nocerino has been always called and Palombo not)

Marchisio is a starter, very probably instead of Thiago Motta

well actually Thiago Motta started in the last three matches so he's currently the first choice instead of Marchisio.. I know Marchisio will probably start in these two matches but it's also a matter of shape.

as to De Sanctis and Nocerino, i'm going to change both, but i'm doubtful about Viviano since we all know that Prandelli wants to gamble on young players so we don't know who he's going to choice for euro 2012
