He was "educated" as a DM. After the test matches I have seen he seems to be very good in passing for a CB in his age. That's why I would go for SPS=75. His passing and TW skills are the reason why he will probably be a starter.

New Co-Trainer Gerland (former reserve-coach) let him play DM in Bayern's reserve team to train his passing skills, positioning and tactical skills. Nowadays CBs have to meet higher requirements than running and tackling, and regarding Dortmund's Mats Hummels (that was trained the same way at Bayern reserves) doing so was a smart decision.

Is he really shooting so hard that he deserves SP=85? That's an outstanding stat for a young defensive player like him...

Yeah, I really doubt that he's on par with Boateng who has a strong shot, just see his passes beeing also quite fast. ;)

First, we have to increase JMP. In the last weeks "Kicker" was written that he is able to do a standing jump of 55cm, which is really an amazing value which lets him do dunkings without any problems ;). I have in mind that the highest jump ever in the NBA was around 80cm... That's why I suggest JMP=88 for the moment. The measure jumping height is a statistic like "time for 100m sprints" and so we just have to discuss how to picture 55cm with the stats. This does not say that he is THE outstanding player in heading as this needs mainly timing etc.

Further he did not play like a 30 years old worldclass defender the first games, but at least he showed a half-decent performance. There was just one game where he totally failed (like the whole team did against Mainz). With the current stats (DEF, RESP) he is AFAIK one of the worst, maybe even the worst defender in tacklings. That does not seem to be real. That's why I suggest the following:

DEF=77 and so on par with e.g. Zambrano and Niedermeier. Response on 77 as well (on par with Niedermeier, Reinartz, Prödl). To sum up:

DEF=77
RESP=77
JMP=88

http://vertcoach.com/highest-vertical-leap.html
Michael Jordan 48" = 121.92 centimeters
Vince Carter 43" = 109.22 centimeters
LeBron James 44" = 111.76 centimeters

I have no idea whether 55 cm is much. If I stack some stuff and put it at 55 CM I am quite sure I am jump on it with a standing jump actually.

I was writing about a standing jump, I do not believe that even MJ was able to jump 1.20m without running. If it is so, I'm really impressed :shock:.

Anyway, being 1.89m while able to jump 55cm means he can dunk without problems ;) and so Badstuber can jump very high for a football player. I hardly know anybody below 1.90m who can dunk, me included ;). That's the point I want to make clear.

Edit: Here is the (German) source - "Badstuber hingegen lebt von seiner Sprungkraft (55 Zentimeter aus dem Stand) und einem exzellenten Zweikampfverhalten." http://www.spox.com/de/sport/fussball/b ... ammer.html

Did you actually see in the games high Badstuber jumped?
88 would be really tooo much!!

The sites can write a lot, it's the same with Barrios who did nothing till now. ;)

I would also raise Aggression to 65. And Speed to 80.

Some quotes of Kern (Youth Coordinator of Bayern Munich):

Kern: "Van Gaal hat erkannt, dass Badstuber nicht nur ein guter Spieler ist, sondern ein sehr guter. Für ihn hat er nicht nur ein gutes Passspiel, sondern ein überragendes."

Kern about Hummels vs. Badstuber: "Mats ist sicher der bessere Fußballer, dafür ist Holger spritziger, schneller und sprunggewaltiger."

If we rate players here on their current performance we really have to get Badstuber closer to DEF=80. In every game he shows a very good performance in tacklings. Yesterday against Juventus he did not loose one single tackling in the first half (hope I am not wrong with this ;)). Especially his timing is amazing for a player with this few experience.

Back to jumping again: 77 can't be true. With JMP=77, HEAD=80 and BB=83 he is by far not as good in headers in the game as he is in reality.

DEF=78
JMP=82
