Mathieu Bodmer

Image

Spoiler: show
A very complete player. Maybe the one who makes the most beautiful passes in France. His long passes are a model of the kind. He also excels at the short game and in a one-touch.

He possesses a very good striking of ball. Shooting often powerfully by far. He knows how to stand out of without control and over magnificent occasions (against Bordeaux notably).

Concerning his positions: it is the pure centre midfielder which can also meet itself in attack. His versatility is misleading, its return being sharply lesser in the other positions.

He is the man whom we place or somebody in the axis is missing.

Yes he can play CB and at Lyon he was playing CB.

Several changes need to be done from what I saw this season
ATT/DEF: Both can adjust one or two point, 74/66 suits him better
BAL: I don't get why he is so low. Gonnalons 84 and Bodmer only 82? He is fairly strong although too slow.
DA: Seriously, cannot see him better than Martin or Boudebouz, maybe at the same level as Lucho(83)?
Cards: suggest to add Long Ranger and remove Marauding

Well, Cant really comment on him as I havent seen PSG lately (something I'd like to though), but are you really sure of Da that low? he isnt really agile at all, but he compensate it with such an classy way of keeping the ball in control, not a really a expert on dribbling cards but from what I know of them, I think Step On skills would fit him pretty well.
Another point here, whenever I saw him I was highly impressed by the goals he scored... Just perfect connections and imo displaying something more of what an 80 would represent, just like I say highly impressive, two that I remember I watched are: the one vs Redbull and the one vs Lyon some time ago (if I recall correctly...), they werent 1 once 650074835703487 shots, you can notice he did it with pretty regurality. Something around 82/84 would be fine Imo, Rather see him near to the like of Sneijderes than the likes of Cambiassos.
And not a big deal, but he is kinda decent jumping tbh, I mean 1/2 points more wouldnt hurt anyone.

Disagree about DA lowered. Interist explained why.
About BAL, look the H/W of the two players. Bodmer is tall, but weak too.
But you are right about the stars. Agree.

For Interist, I will do tests tomorrow with the values suggested.

Disagree for Long Ranger, he doesn't shoot a lot from distance, it is more volleys.

And agree to removed Marauding but you have to give him Free Roaming card, he come a lot on offensive actions to scores goals when his time have the ball, he use it to make volley like against Sallzburg, come far away at the moment who Menez fix his opponents and use Free Roaming on it.

I am quite positive that he is a better long passer than this tbh, not sure of a number, but he really is quality, arguably the best of Ligue 1? :P well, top 3 material to be fairer. Personally I have him on 87/85 Lpa/lps, would like to hear some opinions.

Ok now with Ancelotti he plays sometimes like Pirlo as a deep-playmaker : add DMF as one of his positions.

Made a lot of changes: I just saw he was 190x91 but I never see him at least good to use his body.
With the injuries he suffer since Lyon, his physical attributes are really bad nowadays.

You are right - I was harsh and misjuged him - he can be solid and does have an physical impact.
Balance can be raise at 82.

Comparing Motta to Bodmer (they plays now at the same position - Central DMF with great passing), I would swap their Mentality values.
Also, Bodmer clearly doesn't need that high TW value - he is doing his stuff but dn't give a support to his teammates - the 71 value of Motta is good to him. (Motta could have a bit of raise in TW (74-76).

Agree too, he doesn't give support, but I saw him working a lot on the turf (when he played :D ). I was hesitant to suggest a higher value on Stamina but in fact he neevr played an entire games so 78 still looks good to me.

Finally I decrease his TW to 71. Decrease also Acceleration and Response too whereas Atk has benn raised. He is still fantastic vision-wise but he doesn't move a lot nowadays.

His shooting has been raised - his placement is not bad and ST was discussed already.

Motta deserves the former yellow value of Bodmer. (actually Motta could have some others tweaks)

Form to 4 + Injury : C. Inconsistant and injury-prone.

He gonna played as a CB at Nice like he did with Puel already at Lyon. From my memories he wasn't very good at that positions but could be interresting to have a such passer able to deliver long passing from deep as a CB.

He's use as CB only like he did at Lyon in the past. I try to work on him but I didn't watch so much matches of Nice. He's playing like an extra attacker, wich looks logical according to his technical abilities. I also find him good at intercepting balls or global defensive works.

judging by the awesome technical stats he has, employing him as cb looks like a total waste of talent
