One of the best Brazilian strikers on the second half of the 00's, Vágner Love was well known for his nickname and colorful dreadlocks and also for being a very talented goalscorer. Agile, pacey and capable of great goals, he scored 29 goals in 33 matches for CSKA in 2008, his peak season. His NT career ended in 2007 however as he couldn't replicate that goalscoring form for the Seleção during the time, although he still featured for Brazil during the 2007 Copa América, scoring against Chile, his only goal in the tournament. As of 2019, Vágner has scored 297 goals in 593 games on his career including 102 goals in 199 matches for CSKA, and 4 goals in 20 matches for Brazil.

i feel there are many numbers too high for what he's known for and taking Teixeira set as a reference made from the 15-16 season where he scored 26 goals on 26 games is a better goal record than what Love ever achieved.

again, i don't know much about him but the fact that he was insanely op on games and that i saw a few matches from his 2016–17 season and from the time he came back to Corinthians on 2015 and now.

Yeah with this set he'd be a killer everywhere in Europe, while from what I remember that was not the case at all.

The deal with Vagner is that he had a very brief peak, in fact one single season (2008) where he had a 29 in 33 goal record for CSKA and other seasons where he performed less. Still he has scored a very high amount of goals throughout his career, nearing the 300 mark with over 0,5 goal/game ratio. Form 4 is there to balance the set.

Saying "He hasn't been good in europe" is a poor argument since he was topscorer in the UEFA cup in 2008-09 and instead of moving to a bigger club he chose to go back to Brazil to improve his NT chances. Using Alex Teixeira for comparison's sake is also a very very poor choice being that Alex has far superior technical resources, played in a competely different role and in a different league for the strongest team on that league and is a far more accomplished dribbler. A better player to compare him to would be Seydou Doumbia, who also played for CSKA not too long after Vagner did and couldn't reach the same peak in terms of numbers that Vagner did.

Basically you're comparing goal records of players from two different leagues in different eras. You have no idea how well they compare to eachother because there's a lot of other factors to consider.

Poor argument or not, this set is overrated, and it's not getting approved to the classics unless I see a good tone-down.

I think this set got the right idea about Vágner Love but seems too high in some areas, such as TS, Header and Technique. I was reviewing some data and he only scored 5 header goals between those seasons and tried to search but got no data about how many header goals he scored before that in Palmeiras. And yes, he was a damn killer in that Uefa Cup, but some little tweaks might work better for Vágner Love.

According to some sources his Weight was 72kg by that time.

Can people elaborate more on what need to be changed? like giving proper values? Some values are based on the actual set and comparing both i dont know what is wrong the overall idea and style of the player looks in the right direction, Vagner Love was not very consistent but when he played he was beast, could burn defenders with his acc + agi + ds, he could also create plays thanks to his good passing and tw, i wonder if his spa isnt higher than this?

He was good with his head, the actual 2019 set gives him 79, just looking at his overall accuracy while it wasnt his main strength he was good enough to score some showing good technique to change the direction of the ball.
Sometimes he looked even faster than Doumbia who at his prime was something like 86 TS and 90 Acc according to PSD, but maybe it could be reviewed, do you have any idea?
Both technique and ST comes from the fact that he could trap and shoot easily some balls that you wouldn`t expect a player lower than those values to be able to.

This video shows his really great ACC, maybe reduce his TS and keep the ACC? Something like 83-84 maybe would fit better. He was damn fast indeed but only in short runs, like he could easily beat any of those defenders just by accelerating a bit. And also there is one interesting jump clip in the video.

Technique seems ok for me, any number from 85-86 works, he has good technique as I was watching some videos of him. The thing that makes me doubt is the low level of russian league, I'm not saying he was a bad striker, of course not, but he had things kinda easy too. Of course we need to keep in mind his great moment in that Uefa Cup when he played REALLY good. Also the Combo BB,TS,ACC makes him really hard to take down in the game, was that the case with Love?
