Re: Djibril Sow

I've read some comparisons between Sow and Witsel as midfielders, which have some valid points. Just like Witsel, Sow is a very supportive player. Of course Sow has a tendency for moving between channels or providing defensive covering when required. But his work ethic is much easier to see when he ...

Re: Mesut Özil

His off the ball movement has become from average to poor in terms of both quality and quantity. He's barely making an impact in game with the ball at his feet, but now he's even more useless when he doesn't have it. No defensive pressing at all, no tracking back to ask for the ball at his feet, min...

Re: Julian Pollersbeck

He seems to be a competent keeper for mid-table sides in 2. Buli, but not more. As Heidenheim lost against already promoted Arminia Bielefeld, HSV only needed to home win against Sandhausen (already safe from relegation and even a prom/rel playoff spot), to have the chance to play a potential promot...

Re: Pavel Kadeřábek

We already know he's hit and miss as a crosser. But, while he already has high values for LPS, I've noticed he actually an even more massive speed in most of his crosses, no matter whether they are lofted, whipped or grounded. It is easier to notice it when he crosses the ball after a sprint on the ...

Re: Thomas Delaney

His numbers in terms of goals and assists at BVB are not as impressive as they were at Bremen. But that's not really something unexpected, considering Lucien Favre signed him for BVB for other reasons. Prior to Favre's arrival at Dortmund, the club was struggling a bit when it comes to intensitivty,...

Re: Salif Sané

He looks a bit faster over long runs, but even worse in terms of passing stats and ball control. He mostly stands out in physical terms, but he's subpar technically speaking for a CB. Also, playing alongside Nastasic is not helping him to improve his performances (and viceversa).

Re: Alessandro Schöpf

I'm a bit dissapointed of his little progression in terms of precission overall since he joined Schalke. His workrrate and speed on the ball are still top notch, but his end up product tends to be weak, and that's the main reason he cannot take his football to a further step. Otherwise, he would sur...

Re: Cenk Tosun

He's not lethargic, he's somewhat compentent striking the ball with either foot, he's good in the air (not as much as DLC, unfortunately) and he's not a dumb forward by any means. So, regardless of his recent problems with injuries, what's preventing Tosun from making a larger impact at Everton? Mos...

Re: Victor Osimhen

I partly share your impressions about him... Yes, just to a certain extent. You see, I don't think he's exactly has huge technical lacklusters. He actually gives me more the impression of being a striker who's not really smart at using all his skills and traits wisely. So he will tend to attempt fir...

Re: Yunus Mallı

Well, he's been struggling with consistency for a couple of years, being 2019 a really woeful one for him. I wouldn't say he's an injury-prone player. But everytime he's sidelined, even after short term injuries, he heavily has issues to get back to a decent form. He's usually unfit, and his letharg...

Re: Nico Schulz

He's an offensive threat down his flank when in form, but a true defensive liability for most of the time.

At least those weakiness were well mitigated while at Hoffenheim. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked the same way at BVB every time he plays.

Re: Rabbi Matondo

He's the typical tricky dribbler with the skill to make some impredictable moves on the ball but with poor end up product, mostly looking to be fouled but with mixed results. Maybe I'm biased, but in spite of having first team chances relatively often, he's not being deployed well tactically speakin...

Re: Achraf Hakimi

The difference comes from how often the aforementioned players displays those massive speed runs. Maybe Hakimi had that exceptionally fast run, but he runs at those speeds very rarely, whereas Davies performs those runs in a much more consistent basis, at least twice each matchday. Don't get me wron...

Re: Dominik Kohr

He's a decent squad player as long as you just want a midfielder playing safe, no risking at all in ball possesion. Otherwise, he's not a really reliable player for Bundesliga standards. No creativeness, lack of skill for building up play, just a decent tackler who's still inconsistent at intercepti...

Re: Djibril Sow

I'm surprised he's been overlooked to this extent, as his progression since joining Frankfurt has been slow but steady, to the point of making him one of the few positives for the club this season so far, and surely their best signing last summer, even with some nice pace sustainted in those runs on...

Re: Yannick Gerhardt

Sure, he's mostly a box-to-box CM nowadays; he may still play as an emergency LB, but his position by default is definitely CM.
He also looks a bit more aggresive in attack, roaming relatively often into the opp box. Aggresion is clearly low greens material, for instance.

Re: Breel Embolo

He was naturally destined to become a waste of a fotballer at Schalke, and his move to Gladbach was exactly what he was needing to guide his career to a more positve way. Embolo was tactically restricted at Schalke, just forced to cut inside from the flanks, with minimal freedom of movement off the ...

Re: Matija Nastasić

He's not exactly a driven footballer, and that's something easy to see in his performances. When Schalke is in a defensive crisis, Nastasic is usually the most underwhelming player in their D-Line. It is not only a matter of him for not being really vocal or tactically commited, but also his unambit...
