frane matosic scored 729 goals in 739 games for hajduk split between 1935 and 1956 you can see him briefly on one video ( number 10) he was especially a great shooter fast (you can see it ) strong confident on this video you see bernard vukas too ( number 11) another great striker both are among the greatest players of all times in croatia

Franjo WÖLFL, Frane Matošić and Bernard Vukas are all Yugoslavian footballers. They don't belong here. This place should be only for Croatian players who played after Croatian independence.

I've removed Franjo WÖLFL from squad.

Ressurecting the topic.... :P

Let's not forget other less 'attractive' players that played significant roles:

Goran Juric
Nikola Jurcevic
Dubravko Pavlicic
Nikola Jerkan
Krunoslav Jurcic
Milan Rapajic
Igor Cvitanovic

Why has not made Velimir Zajec? (Croatian Beckenbauer) in the team prior to independence.

Darijo Srna right back, not Šimić...

Ladić

Štimac
Bilić R. Kovač

Srna Jarni
Boban
Asanović
Prosinečki

Šuker Bokšić

Again: Šimunić must be in starting formation. All time selection was selected last year and defence was composed of Šimunić,Bilić and Kovač. Although I
never liked Kovač so I'd rather see Štimac or Tudor in starting eleven.

Brezza wrote:Ivan GOLAC

Ivan Golac was Serbian. He was born in Croatia but he's declared as Serbian and lives there. Plava Čigra told me that so it's reliable source. So Golac
should be removed. There must be added Vilson Džoni, legendary Hajduk Split offensive full back, after Fahrudin Jusufi the best side back in Yugoslavia.

Also Leo Lemešić should find the space in the team.

There are many players who would find their place in the team ... Luka Peruzović, Jurica Jerković, Dražen Mužinić "Frfa", Marko Mlinarić, Zlatko Kranjčar... or older Tomislav Crnković, Slaven Zambata....

Yes, probably even reserves should be made.

Also, I completely forgot on Zoran Vulić  He was universal player, stopper of location, but played all positions in the
game. And of course had amazing rocket shot. I'll never forget his 40m free kick goal against Zagreb that won the title for
Hajduk in 93/94. He could be added.

Now I really think this team should be expanded. There should be Vlatko Marković as well. At WC '62 in Chile Marković was
selected in the team of tournament as the best defender.

Tomislav Crnković absolutely deserves a place in the first team, our best left back of all time, member of the Olympic teams 1952. 51 appearance for the former Yugoslavia.
I remembered another of our players. Ivan "Oscar" Jazbinšek, in the opinion of many of our senior professionals - the best "stopper" that has ever appeared on our courts! Tough, sharp, resourceful, tenacious, tricky game is excellent head, remains in the memories as a player of high class.
Also goalkeeper Franjo Glaser must be in the team front Mrkušić.

Goalkeepers:
Vladimir Beara
Franjo Glaser

Defenders:
Branko Zebec
Tomislav Crnković
Bruno Belin
Ivan Horvat
Ivan Buljan
Slaven Bilić
Robert Jarni
Robert Kovač

Midfielders:
Zlatko Čajkovski
Stjepan Bobek
Ivica Šurjak
Velimir Zajec
Ivan Gudelj
Zvonimir Boban
Robert Prosinečki

Attackers:
Ivan Hitrec
Bernard Vukas
Josip Skoblar
Dražan Jerković
Davor Šuker
Alen Bokšić

It's really weird Zajec isn't made. He was a fantastic player, libero with a technique worth one of the best no. 10's. Excellent in starting the attacks famous
for his dribbling slaloms and great passes from the back.

I would like to mention also Nenad Gračan who was one of the most promising offensive midfielders in Yugoslav history but that horrible injury ruined his
carrer. Still he's remembered by his brillant technique and ball control as well as the good shot.
