He's probably the only player in modern football that deserves it at the moment but I'm not 100% sure hopefully a more frequent Serie A watcher can back me up on this one.

I'd say so, he plays very much like a Sweeper in the way that he carries the ball out of defence. As Vandeach has said, he's probably one of the very few who deserve it in modern football. I personally believe that he's quite underrated, in the first post, in some of the areas that are quite essential for the Sweeper style.

And what happened to the Header, Top Speed and Team Work suggestions from the previous site? Could they get moved into the first post?

Okay. Well, I believe they were something along the lines of;
Top Speed: 79/78
Header: 87
Team Work: 82/83

That's what I can recall, they're probably not spot on, but that's what I remember.

I'm also wondering about the stars he has. From the games I've seen, I was under the impression that Juan was the guy who slides in and that Mexes was a decent man-marker. Now, I can definitely say that I haven't seen Roma play that regularly, so I'm asking if I've got the right idea or if I'm wrong.

I ve watched all the most recent games of Roma and Mexes right now is in great form and considered one of the best CB of Serie A...So I think he deserve the star for"Sliding" and I would raise DF abilities to 87 at least...

Sorry, that isn't good enough reasoning. He is fast, has the Covering & Sliding....so why do you think he needs to be 2 points above Chellini and on the same level as....87: Nemanja VIDIC, Sol CAMPBELL, Rafael MARQUEZ, Kakhaber KALADZE, Christian CHIVU, Andrea BARZAGLI, JUAN
??

Only Chivu, Chiellini, Juan and Marquez of the one you have mentioned can be compared to Mexes... The rest are at least 4-5 points lower in DF ability.
Have you seen Barzagli in the last two years, he is not even anymore called in Italy national team...I would give him maximun 80 in DF...
Kaladze is an adapted CB, he used to play on the left back; Vidic needs to be more experienced...

The ability to position and perform tackle against opponent players...My opinion is that Mexes is 6-8 points better than Barzagli in every single defending activity...

you are right, Kaladze and Barzagli no way deserve 87 in DF, nowaday they are poor, but Mexes is already good, it's true that he has 85, but he has stars.....in math: 85 + stars > 87 ;)

Well done there, every defender in that list that was from the EPL you managed to see very poorly. And people wonder why I think certain people are bias.

First off, Kaldazed doesn't have an 87 and Sol Campbell has an 86. But to say that Campbell should be 4-5 points lower than Mexes is laughable, I'd recommend that you watch more Portsmouth games.

Secondly, you're definition of the Defence stat is mostly right bar the list bit. It affects the accuracy of tackles, not just tackles in general. He's a decent tackler, yes, but is this due to the timing of them? Or the strength within them? There are numerous factors to tackling, in the same way that there are numerous stats involved in becoming a decent defender.

Top Speed: 78/79
Header: 87
Shot Power: 83/84
Team Work: 82/83
*D-line control

Agree with...
TS: 79
TW: 82
I personally think he deserves *Marking more than *Sliding.

Not sure about the DEF, but I am considering him going up to an 86....IMO it kind of depends on what stars he ends up with.
