Just trying to understand who deserves the middle shooting star... The same thing maybe applies to Katsouranis too. Yeah, being Portuguese I always thought of Meireles as having a good shot from far away... But if we look at the stats... 4 and a half years with Porto and 2 and a half with the NT... 10 goals in total... And that's in every competition... The only middle shot goal I can remember his scoring was that one against Chelsea... And that one had a deflection.

I get it, but since it means both power and accuracy in long ranged shots shouldn't it be more used for players who score more often from long range? Or is it more for players who attempt it lots? Petit scored maybe 1 in 15 screamers . Yeah, actually if you look at the stats, katso is a bit more profilific a scorer than Meireles in both club and NT, but I really can't remember a long ranged goal now... Probably there was one or two

No, it just makes them attempt it more often
And Meireles shoots more than Katso but it's due to their different roles in their respective teams

I think we need to review alot of players mate... theres lots of unknown guys with the same att/def ratio and its simply unfair towards our well thought of ladders

Derlei is known because of his never giving up attitude and has an 89.. so I'd probably go for 87 on Meireles.

Hmmm. Normally I'd say this is the typical case of the unsung hero not getting his due just because he doesn't score goals and does the less glamorous job on the pitch. But you know your stats, mate, and I trust your judgment.
